He is a very clever illusionist, but that is all he is. An illusionist.

He's demonic! Some of his stuff is an illusion. Not all.

I have seen plenty of his work, and think that he is a great illusionist. I don't see how he's demonic though.......maybe an admission to see him is actually signing away your soul.....check this out though......

I dislike Criss Angel with a great intensity as he acts in such a way that I infer he is trying to pass off his stuff as real....but thats just me...

i agree jobot, plus most of the time the audience surrounding him in the 'street performances' are actors.
some of the stunts are so elaborate that they seem pointless, such as walking up walls.. its pretty obvious this is just a trick but they drag it out to be amazing

I disagree.

I was captivated by him at first, until after watching the episode where he "crawls" down the side of that huge casino... during one of his "practice" runs you could CLEARLY see some kind of rope/cord coming from his back/waist parallel to the building.

I barely caught it.. but once I noticed it I rewound it (DVR) several times to be sure..

I do have to admit some of the stuff he does is still pretty amazing.. but it's all an illusion.

Yeah, I have seen Criss Angel too, and the guy is pretty weird. It can make you wonder. but just remember, in front of thousands of Live fans, and millions of television fans, David Copperfield made the Great Wall of China dissappear, among many other things like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, and escaping from Alcatraz. All done in front of thousands of people. just because you see something that you can't explain, doesn't make it real. it just makes the illusionist good at what he/she does.

Do you think you know all the laws of physics? Don't you think that there is much unexplored science about time, dimensions, and tons of other things that you don't know about.

Criss Angel has said himself that he don't have supernatural powers, so you who think he have; give up.

Of course everything he does is tricks, but i still think it's great.

For the poeple that believe what Criss does is real, that shows that Criss is doing his job well. By, the way....Copperfield did NOT make the Great Wall of China disappear...it was the Statue of Liberty...He WALKED through the Great Wall.

As professional illusionists, we never claim that what we do is real...we leave it to the audience to draw their own conclusions. Most intelligent people realize that what they see is merely an illusion. Gullible people (like some of the people here), are our favorite audiences because it makes our jobs so much easier.

Attan, you say the best part of the shows is to figure out how the ilusion was done.....why? Does that not take away part of the magic? Is it not enough to be simply entertained? Or is it that you find yourself believing what you see and must debunk the illusion to maintain some amount of sanity?

It is dangerous for an illusionist or magician to claim his feats genuine, as it will ultimately lead to his downfall. It happened with Uri Gellar and countless others. They all claimed their abilities were real, when in fact, they were defrauding people out of money and trust.

A post was made offering a link to the revelation of how one of Criss' levitations is done. Why post that? What do you get out of it, besides ruining the effect for the illusionist and the audience? A lot of money, time, ingenuity, sweat and hard work goes into designing and building illusions, and you are more than willing to trash that. It is a shame that you don't have more respect for the art of magic than that.

The art of magic and performing illusions is for pure entertainment...not to make people believe there are some with "powers". All those that believe Angel and other illusionists and magicians have powers really need to bring reality into check and come back to earth. I have a 4 year old son that has a better grasp on understanding illusions and how magic works than some of you....however, he is exposed to the world of magic on a daily basis.

No, I can't see how its all done, and you who believe he has "magic" seem to think you are clever by believing in nonsense, personally, I think I have the better end of that bargain, believing in science rather than dreams. Yes its fake, its all fake, there is no such thing as magic in any regard of the word, no one has supernatural powers of any sort, because they do not exist, those of you who seem to think they do, and claim that not everything can be proved by science, you are merely living in a world that is slowly losing its wonder as you mature, and so you look for something else to believe in that you can wonder and stare wide-eyed and child-like at some more. Wake up.

I am fmailiar with some metaphysical theory, yes, and that means nothing to this conversation, that does not prove to me at all that magic or the supernatural could follow the laws of physics because metaphysics in itself is only a theory, it cannot be proved, it is also a fallacy.

No, I don't believe in magic. I believe in psychics that can do telekinesis etc.

I know that it's irritating with that kind of audience, I have experienced it myself, And i'm just trying to figure out the tricks, so that i can do them mysalf. I love the tricks that i can't figure out just as much as i like the easy ones.

Dont missunderstand me. I'm not the kind of guy that turns over cards, takes things that you're holding etc. I'm just trying to learn as much as i can, so that i might become a pro one day

Hello Attan,I like your determination and drive.
The best advice is I ever heard is the endless P.
Practice,Practice,practice,practice and more practice,followed by more practice,etc.

Always try to carry a deck on you and palm everything as much as possible to develop those finger muscles.All as naturally as possible. Try a whole day palming cards and coins.(unless driving!)
Dont try to learn everything at once,its a bottomless pit.
If a trick feels natural to you-carry on doing it.
And more practice.

Whow! Thanks för that! That is exactly what i'm doing. At home, in scool, in the car. (I don't drive, I'm 15 years old), and everytime when my hands are free. I agree with the previous advise....PRACTICE!! If you strive to be a magician....take our code seriously....never expose the secrets to an illusion, respect other magicians and the creators of magic, do not perform an illusion publicly unless you've mastered it, and continure to practice and strive for excellence.

My advise to you as a young beginner is to experiment in different areas of magic...are you interested in close-up magic with cards and coins? How about stage magic, mentalism, kid's magic.....all of the above? Eventually, you'll find your niche. Talk to other magicians that have experience...ask them how they got started, what their opinions are, etc...most will be glad to help you out and share a little with you.

As for ways to learn more magic....visit a couple of magic sites out there if you do not have a local magic dealer near you. There are quite a few good ones out there. One of the best around is New Concepts Magic Supplies. They're one of the largest and most affordable. They also have a discussion forum where you can post topics and talk with other magicians. I advise you to check them out. Good luck with your magical endeavors..I wish you the best success and as much fun as I've had over the years.

Criss Angel and others aren't phonies, but lord knows something is wrong with their act.

Did the see the trick when she sets himself on fire and when he is extinguished his clothes end up lying on the ground as if they fallen of him? I think I may actually know how he did that. All the other tricks I've seen him do are just to amazing for me to work out.

I did see that effect. I've done something similar to that, except with no fire. The effect I perform is an effect where I'm led up a set of stairs to some gallows. A hooded executioner puts a noose around my neck. he pulls a lever and the floor opens, and my robe I was wearing falls down through the floor to the ground. Essentially, I've vanished. The executioner turns around, removes his hood, and it's revealed that I am the executioner. Very complicated illusion and is stunning to watch. Criss used the same switch principle in his fire demonstration. He's truly a talented individual. I've spoken with him numerous times and he always seems to inspire me to push my illusions a little closer to the edge. He's a really good guy.

criss angel is just a very good illusionist.
