i cant seem to find any info on how the rating system in these forums work, how do you move from eg, alien embyro to what ever the next is an so on an so on..

It's all determined by the number of posts that you make.
I think around about 500 you move up from Embryo, next is at 900, something like that.
I'd think one of the mods would be able to say definitively, you might want to PM one of them.
