I was walking 'round the town
Minding my affairs,
Then not far in the distance
A noisy, car horn blairs.
No other folks in view;
She didn't act in spite.
A gracious, friendly wave
She was hoping to invite.
I kept to my pace
And shook my head in wonder.
To think I'd be excited,
That's quite a spell she's under.
While I'm sure she was enthralled
With the chance and happy meeting,
Humans have a language.
It's geese who honk a greeting.
If beeped at on the street,
Don't turn your head too soon.
With teenagers afoot,
You're apt to see the moon.
