I'm a catholic and the way I see all this is just a form of control to keep people in the church. I live my live to the fullest while still praising God, I don't feel a mass congregation to confess sins and repent every week is necessary in living a full and happy life.

Unfortunately I was born and raised Catholic, but went searching for my own beliefs in my late teens. I think that an underlining reason they could be doing this is because of all the impurities that TV, newspapers and the Internet holds. The porn, violence and just lack of disregard for someone else's life/feelings that is portrayed. When's the last time you've seen happy show that made your heart feel good. There's a couple out there and maybe a news segment here and there, but there is far more hurt and heartache. My aunt who is a nun says that she thinks computers were made by man with the devil's help. Her theories have a certain amount of truth to it. There seems to be a lot more followers then leaders in the world and I'm sure the Vatican is afraid that these followers will go for the wrong thing.

But to play devil's advocate - If none of the Catholics are doing TV, news and Internet, they won't know what the Catholic priests have been doing. . .

They just know the information is getting out there faster and faster because of the internet, to de-bunk all the BS that's been being put out via the neighborhood churches, books, newspapers and etc...the things they "had" control over...now, they have little control over the internet...though, Bush wants to change that

I dont't think people understand what it is to be Catholic I mean apostles & saints were matryed for their belief.I met Pope John Paul he done a very good spreading the word even in his fragile state .If you go to South America the standard of living isn't good but the spirit of people is strong therefore you have more fun out of life.One day a new Church would arise to break the silence.

That was a long post I.F. Anyway I wonder why so many people brought up catholic do not like being a practising catholic when grow older. (this is not a bash at catholics I just thought alot of them were a little sarcastic about thier religion or just none practising at an older age)
