(CBS 5) You wouldn't think a letter from a third-grader could change a company's corporate practices.

But that's apparently exactly what happened after CBS 5 became interested in an unusual complaint from a viewer.

A South Bay mom told CBS 5 that her young daughter's letter offering suggestions on how to improve the Apple iPod prompted a harsh response from the company.

So to change policy at a company all you have to do is show them a crying 8 yr. old girl

Blown out of proportion, I feel bad for Steve Jobs. They are like this to prevent lawsuites. Say 100 people send in the same idea and Apple does it. Now your going to have 100 people saying "Hey, that was my idea! Where is my peice of the pie?". They just send out those letters to everyone who sends in idea's. I don't see how it was harsh, they made it sound like Steve Jobs sent a letter back saying "Screw your idea, you little b****".

I agree completely with Reincarnated, I mean, people will do that, say that they are the ones who gave them the idea, Instantly Demanding their own cut... Of course that is just how majority of americans are.

The whoel thing just seems a bit.. stupid. Just because somebody gets an automated response telling them not to send in ideas doesn't need to be reviewed because the receivee is over-emotional. They should've just ignored it and got on with life, rather than calling up CBS so they could bemoan it and waste everybodies time.
