A question for all non-believers to ponder. Whatcha gunna do, whatcha gunna do when God judgeth you?

But first I'll explain why I'm asking this question....

I was having a discussion the other day with a self-professed Christian at the coffee shop. He was telling me how important God was to him, which is fine with me, "God" is important to me too but the conversation soon changed to why I don't believe in the true God(the Christian concept of God). I told him that everywhere in the world cultures have their own God(s) so why would his be right and theirs be wrong?

He started to explain why by using the Bible for justification. I asked him if he was aware that other people have their own holy books too, so why would his be right and theirs be wrong?

He began to use historical justifications for why the Bible is right. I again said that other people's holy books also contain historical events in their parts of the world, so why are their beliefs wrong?

The conversation then turned to him saying that the risks of me not believing are great and could result in me going to Hell. I told him Hell is a Christian invention and many cultures don't believe in Hell and others have a very different concept of it, so why is he right?

I guess he got tired of arguing with me or maybe felt that I wasn't convert material and told me he had to leave. I thanked him for the discussion but just before he left he reminded me of God's judgement and said that I should think really hard about what I am going to do after I die and am standing in front of God to be judged. I just shrugged it off.

But then I got thinking, for the sake of just thinking about it, what would I do if I found myself in front of God after I die?

Personally I'd punch him right in the mouth. I think I can take him.

I'd like to know everyone else's thoughts?

I also want to be clear that my answer is my truthful answer not just whatever answer I could think of to offend people. If you are offended keep in mind that you can punch my God or anyone else's God if they are right, you are wrong and you found yourself standing in front of "their" God.[/disclaimer]

What would I do if I found myself in front of the Christian God? I would pull out a copy of the Bible and start reading it to him, stopping at certain points, asking him to explain how he could be so terribly cruel. If I am to be judged then I have a right to judge him as well....The Bible itself states not to point out the sty in your brothers eye before you remove the sty in your own....or something like that...You get the idea

LOL what can a NB do??? there is nothing they can do....God already knows there are skeptics he CREATED them just like everyone else...he is well aware of it and as he is all forgiving...he will not care he loves one and ALL


Why is it that some make God out to be judgemental and cruel???

The Christian Bible itself and many of it's religions make their own God out to be judgemental and cruel. I don't understand it either other than possibly a means to fear people into doing what the particulary church wants them to do.....But then some people need that sort of strictness in their lives.

Sweet of you to say so...and, I honestly believe you believe that too...and, you would be in a minority then.

I want to ask you this then, if I told you I am a lesbian would you say that I am going to hell for my sin?

Or, does god love me “in spite” of that?

How is it that the “majority” of christians say anyone that sins or goes against god, will go to hell?

Another question, what about people raised in different faiths that are quite loving, all heart, very compassionate, growth and spiritually orientated like Buddhism…what if someone grows up Buddhist and does not take Jesus Christ into their hearts as their savior….are they going to hell as well?

And, what about the person who is raised some place where they never have heard of Christ and never will...but, they are still loving but, human and make mistakes...are they going to hell?

And, the last question. I can understand why someone would be set in their belief, but, why do christians feel they have to tell everyone and or make others believe in their religion and judge those who do not follow the same faith?

(This last question isn’t as important as the others, because I have met a fair share of christians and heard many answers…all different too…there is little consistency in this faith)

As to what am I going to do?

Not a thing because it will not happen.

And "if" some god like being came to me professing to be god and were going to judge me...I would only say that I am me and my only judge, therefore you cannot judge me

If you told me you where a lesbian...I would say...good for you girly...You may not know this but although I am straight myself...but I am NOT a christian therefore I DONT believe that nonsense that any gay person will go to hell....heck I dont even think that being gay is a sin...how can it be??? I used to follow a faith too and now I dont..and ever since I followed God my own way..life was a lot better...after all Jesus didnt wish for people to go a preachin in temples of worship...I dont even think he knew there would be christians formed and soon a bible written....YOU DO WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT and to blazzes with those that judge you...they tend to forget...judge not let he be judged LOL

However isn't the Christian God constantly judging and testing his followers throughout the Bible? Christians are taught that they must live a certain lifestyle or else they will be thrown into Hell...or not reach everlasting life or whatever that religion teaches...
To me that is pure judgement. So it doesn't seem to matter if we are judging others or not...the Christian God is going to judge us all in the end. If he can judge me then I can judge him. And boy do I have a list...

Hmmm i think in all fairness God has a right to judge us...As for the Christian God well look i think even if he is as judgemental as he is made out to be you have to look at the bigger picture. He says hes all forgiving and all loving right? Moses personally did one of the most amazing things in all of the Old Testament - he got God to change His mind!

So to all you people who want to punch the Christian God in the face- if he is indeed the real God...im sure you could just speak to him- people make him out like he wouldnt understand and would throw you straight to hell, but if hes the true God then you can talk with him in your judgement, say what you have to say...which i think is fair enough...he'll listen!

It doesnt make him real but it puts him in a more realistic light. Why would the Bible say one could argue with God and make him change his mind? I mean if God is all powerful he would have just smited Moses and got a new messenger. I think it adds a sense of realism in a sense it shows that God actually listened to a man.
