Hi I'm new here. I don't know if this is the right place or not, but I have a rather strange problem. I'm sure people are going to think I'm nuts.. but anyhow..
I think there is some sort of "thing" or "force" or something around our house that does something to time. I really don't know what to call it. Here is what's happening: I can walk out my door at 7:25 am and go straight to my truck in the driveway. I get in my truck and its 7:40 am. In no way does it take me 15 minutes to walk the 20 or so feet from the door to the truck. The same thing happens to my husband when he leaves in the morning (he leaves an hour before I do) there is a 15 minute discrepancy between the time he walks out the door and the time he gets in his car. This only happens in the morning and at no other time duing the night or day.
At first I figured the clock in the truck was off, but its not. My watch is set to the same time as the clocks in the house and the clock in the truck matches the time on my watch. I have double checked this a thousand times in both my truck and my husband's car. My husband has checked several times as well. We have even gone so far as to call eachother from the driveway to check the clock and they're always on the same time.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? This happens every single day and its starting to get very frustrating having to leave the house 15 minutes early to leave on time. I would think it was just me, but it also happens to my husband as well as to anyone who stays over at our house and leaves in the morning.

Hello and welcome KBP.
I do not personally have an answer to your question, but this has been discussed abit before I think, and I am sure some one will be able to answer your question.

That is interesting. I am curious about the thoughts of some of the locals here...
I never heard of anything like it.

Welcome KBP.
Have you ever timed yourself by observing your watch from the moment you leave the house until the time you get to your truck? If you have done this, have you ever noticed if the time on your watch suddenly jumps forward?
KBP
Sep 26 2003, 06:22 PM
No, I have never done that. I'd probably trip over something if I was busy paying attention to my watch LOL. Usually I look at the clock next to the door & check it against my watch as I'm going out, then look at the clock in the truck when I get in & check it against my watch. Always a 15 minute difference and like I said, its only about 20 feet from the door to the driveway.
I can look to see if my watch jumps a head. Any ideas as to what might cause something like this to happen?

Hello KBP!
I was just wondering... Has this "time problem" recently started? Did you move to a new house or has something stange happened in your life that could have triggered it? Is anybody else from the neighbours complaining from time shifts/time lags?

Maybe there is a strong magnetic force by your house. The clock in your truck is digital though, so that can't be it. Maybe there is a dimensional gate like engulf said. What do you mean by you call each other from the driveway? Is he in the house looking outside and calls you? Maybe you should set up a video camera to watch you as you leave. See what happens that there is a 15 minute lapse.

No, its been going on since we moved into the house 2 1/2 years ago. We never had problems like this at our previous residence.

Strange? Nothing that comes to me off hand, unless you count problem after problem with the house, but we chalked that up to the joys of buying an older home that needed updating.

No, not that we've heard at least.. we've never made mention of it to any of our neighbors for fear of sounding like nutcases! I'm sure if they were experiencing something similar they probably wouldn't say anything for the same reason.

We've only done this twice. Once, when my husband was staying home from work I called him from my cell phone when I got in my truck. I had him check the clock to see if it was on the same time as the truck. We were thinking that maybe only clocks in the driveway were being effected. The clocks in the house were the same as in the truck. My husband has called me once in the same manner for the same reason.

This sounds very interesting.
How about using the cell phone, and stay on the phone from the time you leave your house, until you get to the truck. The one staying in the house can watch the clock and tell the other as each second passes, and the one walking to the vehicle can use that time reference and match it to the pace of their walking.
Also, have the person staying in the house turn the microwave on. If the vehicle is about 20 feet away, the microwave could be on for 30 seconds(with a cup of water inside). At the end of that 30 seconds, see how far the person in the driveway is, and see how hot the cup of water is.
Just a thought

Hmm, seems there is a time shift or warp in that area! I would very much love to experience something like it myself... wormhole? dimensional gate? warps or shifts in time? I dunno what it could be! Maybe someone in the future invented a time machine and messed with something in the past in that spot?

! This is very interesting... maybe i can do research for ya! Oh yeah, can you e-mail me your location, as i would like to experience this! It's your privacy, so I won't bug you if you say no. My e-mail addy is nkenney104@hotmail.com! Just stick around to this forum, and i should get something useful for you! (don't forget to update us if anything new happens!)

I kinda had a problem like this a few months ago from feb to july. I live like half a block from the bus stop, and it took me like 20 minutes to get to the bus stop. This never used to happen before. I double checked the time with the time on my computer and on the morning news. I figured maybe the computer could be wrong, but not the morning news. I started a job in feb and it finished in july, so I'm not actually sure if the problem went away because I don't have to go to work in the morning anymore. I started leaving my apt 20 minutes earlier in the morning when it was happening, as I didn't know what to do. If you ever figure it out let me know.

that is really crazy, but while on the topic, this is something similiar but a little different, i used to walk to my ex girlfriends house because i didnt have my license, she lived on the other side of town, i would time myself about 60 minutes to get there walking at a normal to a little bit above normal pace, but one day it took me half that, only 30 minutes, the conditions were the same as normal, same time of day, same basic amount of traffic, i confirmed that i arrived early because i forget what show that came on at 3:30 and ended at 4 was just begining, i never thought of it untill now, but damn that little speed burst, time warp, worm hole, what ever woulda came in handy if it happened more often, if thats even what it was

I have a simpler test you can try KBP. Either you or your husband stand at the doorway of your house, and the other stand by your truck. Then simply toss a ball (or similar object) to each other. If the ball takes 15 min to reach you, you will be able to observe this. I also suggest video taping this phenomena.

Well I haven't had a chance to look at my watch as I'm walking to my truck. I want to get the area cleared of all the mess first. We recently re-did our roof and there is construction material all over the ground. I really don't need to be breaking my leg. I'll keep you updated on what I find out though. Same thing as usual this morning.

Do you notice the time difference before or after you get into your truck? Use a stop watch too if you can to time the difference between house and truck. You don't have to watch the stop watch.

Isn't it true that gravity can effect time ? I know It's probably twadlle but I was reading about it just now on a different site and wondered wether it could be due to a gravitational anomolie?

Have you had your house or land checked for any hazardous materials, like
radon? Im not joking by the way

. Certain chemicals and substances can
affect the mind and cause a "lapse in time" like you are experiencing. Maybe
thats the cause?
Mr. Salt
Oct 3 2003, 02:53 AM
Radon may affect her mind... but not her watch! She is walking to her truck... which is only a couple meters away from her door. If the radon knocked her out or messed with her mind, how can she still walk at the same pace, and finally reach her truck in what seemed like 2 minutes (but wasn't really five minutes.) I don't it has to do with anything that messes with the mind. Unless she's knocked out or completely brain dead, which she wasn't, she should be able to make it to her truck in only about 2-3 minutes. What Kismit said is a nice hypothesis. It could be that it was a gravitational anomoly (forgive my spelling) that distorts time! Nice one Kismit!

Sounds like you found a money maker. You could charge people to lose 15 minutes of their life. Heres some math, work five days a week, 15 minutes lost each day, equals 1 hour and 15 minutes lost each week. Times 52 weeks in a year, thats 65 hours of your life lost each year. Sounds like you could have a lot of fun at your house.

wow that's creepy!!!!!!!!!
me it used to do that and i talked about it to my doctor and he told me i was having a a post traumatic stress disorded cause we had lost a 1 year 1/2 old child very suddendly and my hubby is millitary and was away in bosnia at the time very shortly afther our lost (few weeks)(it was our choice for him to go).
what happend is that whithout realising my mind was elswere and all of a sudden I would get back to reality.
I think your problem could be solved very easly (whit no offense)see a doctor both of you,or have someone else sleep over and see what happens I'm very sure it will be rewarding.

I dont want to come off as a person who is narrow minded because i'm not,but you simply have to give more information then just evey time I walk to my truck 15 min. pass by,are you telling me that for these 2 and a half years it never came to your mind to look at your watch as you are walking to your truck, heck you dont even have to walk how about just standing in your lawn and see if there is a 15 min. diffrence, also does this 15 min. diffrence in time only happen in the morning when you go to work or does it happen all the times of the day, your just going to have to give more information

Ok getting my skeptical side out if the way first: It could be a foul in the vehicle clock. I had that happen when I owned a grand am (piece of crap) the clock would jump around a bit.
That out of the way: I had a similar experience back a few years ago before I moved out of my home town. I used to have this route i walked when I needed to think or just needed rime out of the house.
At one point on that block no matter the time of year or temp etc, the air would turn fall like and you could vaguely make out Halloween decorations plus music coming form the cars ar houses were all from 1997 or before.
At first I thought I was nuts but I took my best friend with me to see if he noticed or not. When we reached that point he looked at one of teh houses and said "it's a little early to put out jack o' lanterns, ain't it?" This was the middle of June. So he saw it as well.
About six months later the phenominon quit entirely but we witnessed it no less than 15-20 times. I have since moved away and so has he but other who noticed it said that nothing of the sort has happened again.

Well, that's the first of that kind i ever heard...
Well, let's think about it. I don't think that a gravitational abnormaly could be happening like Kismit posted, otherwise it would affect matter besides time.
Could there be a large amount of iron on the soil? Could it be a magnetic effect?
There is a hill in Portugal that has a strong iron content in the soil and most lightweight cars can climb that hill with their engines turned off!!
This reminds me of that old "Twilight Zone" episode where a guy had in his house, under his kid's bed a passage to another dimension
Have you ever tried to walk to your truck and back again? Do you lose 30 min.?
Is it always 15 minutes?
On a time warp, you and your husband couldn't be looking at each other and talking to each other while you are skipping 15 minutes ahead...

Better call Tank and ask for the structural drawing of the house. Don't forget you need the main wet wall
Seriously, that is really strange but it must have some sort of explanation...

i would tend to agree here... just keep an eye on your watch some morning, or do any of the mentioned things above... so if you read your watch, say it says 7:30, then you walk to you car, does you watch then say 7:31 or 7:45???

Just get out from the house through the backdoor, and get back into the house through the garage door to reach the truck. It saves 10 minutes everyday

KPB? Are you still there?
I'm a little worry about her. Maybe the time wrap is getting stronger and she skip 100 years and found herself clueless in the future.
