Does it really need to be official? Wouldn't a nice letter to the father work just fine explaining why you are not showing up anymore?

If you truly want out just stop showing up at Church. This does not mean that you cannot still worship your Lord it just means you no longer choose to worship in "His House". I believe that The Lord is everywhere so don't lose faith just because someone tells you that you must goto church to attain Heaven. Peace.

I'm a catholic but i don't consider myself one. I hardly go to church because i get no joy from it. I don't get that fulfilled feeling when im at church, guess im on a spiritual search ! laugh.gif if you feel like you need something more to fulfill your needs, then look for it.

Just go up to the Father * btw why do they call then that ?* and slap him and say you arent coming back, then take a photo of him and superimpose NAMBLA on his dress thingy and post it around......well.... that what i would do....

Ha! How quick could that happen exactly, BM!? tongue.gif

Nope, I say dare to back up your words if you're lame enough to throw them out there. Then, right after that priest in the dress thingy beats hell out of you because priests can fight and some priests are very very adept at the art, you'll be arrested for assault! Then, while sitting in jail with that new testament the prison chaplain hands around to all newbies, you will be quite fortunate if you don't come out with NAMBLA painted across any one of your thingy's!

And after ward you'll always be remembered as the guy/girl, that got smacked down by a priest! Because "thou shalt not swing back on lamers" was that 12th commandment that didn't quite make it to the final edit!

I would suggest speaking with the Father. Most are generally helpful and understanding and can give good advice (as I understand it, most have to have some training in psychology to become a priest) - maybe you just need to talk to the Father about the problems/doubts you're having and why you feel you need to 'resign'. But I'm not even a Christian so I'm probably not the best person to offer advice on Catholicism.

Slightly offtopic: Going to church school and wearing a black frock doesn't make you holy anymore than standing in a garage and saying "VROOM!" makes you a car.

That said, I respect people (priests, pastors, etc) who are sincerely helpful and good people - but there has to be proof of this - simply BEING a priest doesn't cut it.

The poster "Azalin" here on UM is apparently a Catholic priest actually interested in the paranormal - you might PM him and ask him for advice. http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...showtopic=67220

I knew Azalin was Christian, and he was a Demonologist, but a Priest? I seriously had no clue.

Mabye I'll PM him.

God is in our hearts. Church, however, is a body of believers. It is impossible to have a church of 1. Saying that, it's not necessary to go to a building on Sunday to get "closer to God".

Just tell them. Either they'll understand or they'll kidnap you, tie you up and force you to read the bible over and over again. Where are you going afterwards though?

Actually, try to call them. Its safer. Unless they know where you live.
