I was just outside in my hamock, apparently right place at the right time when I noticed a bright red light in the distance heading in my general direction. It ended up passing almost directly overhead with just the single red light located what appeared to be dead center on the bottom of the craft, the only way I could make out the overall size was by the amount of stars it blocked out as it went over, so I'd guess It was at least 500 meters across and completley silent. I traveled another mile or so I suppose but still very visible and very bright until it got over the Capital Mall region and then vanished....sorry, no camera...just thought I'd share....I'm going back outside.

Surely I wasn't the only one to see it though, i'm waiting on local news to mention something as well.

I am not saying it was from another planet...I'm just saying...

Was there anyone around you at the time that might have seen it also? Or were you by yourself?

Never a camera when you need one, eh?

Thanks for sharing.

I'd camp out in case it returned, but that's just me.

Presumably an incident like this might be reported by several other people...

Yes

Welcome to my world! laugh.gif

Thank you for sharing this sighting with us CongressmanReality!

Yes, it is VERY hard to tell if these are OURS or from somewhere else. Something THAT big flying almost directly over you AND COMPLETELY SILENT really raises alot of questions.
IF this is one of ours, WHY would the military be flying over a densely populated area and at that time of day? (or for that matter, any time of day)

There have been a recent rash of sightings going on all over this year alone! Several recent ones that ARE reported are found here: http://www.ufosnw.com/

So many people do not take the time or desire to report these sort of things for various reasons. I hope you reported this some where CongressmanReality. Because just waiting around for someone else to report it may not happen UNLESS someone else reports seeing this.

Was the "bright red light" pulsating, hazy, spinning, spikey or sharp and intense? Would you compare the "red" to the brightness of a stop light, or back car lights, or the bright red intensity of a radio tower?
Could you observe any sort of shape to the light or was it so intensely bright that you could not see a defined shape to it or how it was part of the craft?
Can you possibly try to sketch this and scan it and show us? About how long did you observe this? Strange how it appears very bright up until it gets over the mall and then vanishes!

I hope we hear more about this incident
et's daddy
many many air bases locally

Langly for one

although i find it very hard to believe we could build anything 1500 feet across

someone needs to contact local air traffic control

In search for what CongressmanRealty saw recently over his way, I found an interesting read. (I am not having much luck finding if anyone has reported what he saw last night)

This article is regarding various sightings over Washington DC dating from 1952 to May 2005 and includes some pictures.

Review the 8 page PDF report found here:

I forgot.. I should work on another video to share that was on the History Channel recently called
"UFOs and the White House" Anyone interested in seeing this?

The light was pulsating when I first noticed it, then was steady for around 2 minutes, then completley shut off for about 5 seconds, came back steady and remained that way until it went over the capital area.

The redlight itself, hard to explain it actually looked like a red light being shined into your eyes from a distance, such as catching a glimpse of a laser pointer as someone is aiming it in your general direction.

The shape: I have no idea, It blended perfectly with the sky, could only tell its general size based on the stars it was blocking out.

And I'm not sure if it vanished when it got over the Captial Mall region or just turned its red light off, or perhaps had it pointing in a direction I could not see.

on what ET's daddy said, yes there are ALOT of military bases in the General Area, Langley is actuall a few hours away, but we have Bolling AFB, which has no aircraft, and Andrews AFB which has planes, but none which fit the description, and various Army and Navy/Marine posts.

No I did not report it to any official channels...not about to look like a crazy person blink.gif

Thank you for the update thumbsup.gif

And yea... alot of people think that too and why they will NOT report it- I am sort of that way too. But don't feel so bad.. even MANY PRESIDENTS of the USA have seen these and I don't think they are nuts!

BUT you can do this anonymously, and give just the "general" area of where this was seen as you did here on this forum. OTHERS might come forward. Heck SOME may have even taken pics or video of this! You just never know.

Because of one person in Washington (state) reported seeing something very strange and very similar to what I saw, I then had the courage to submit what I saw and videotaped shortly after she reported her report. She is about a 2 to 3 hour drive NORTH from me and saw it the day AFTER my sighting.

Do you really think ALL people will think you crazy just because of what YOU and another person saw with your own eyes? I don't think so.

You saw what you saw with your own eyes. It may or may not be "man-made" but at this point, it is a UFO.. as simple as that.

Hey, you pay taxes right? Well, it is NOT a rediculous idea to at least give the Air National Guard a call and find out if they had anything in the area or not. That's what I did in 1992 because I wanted answers.

That would have made the time of your sighting 3:37 AM precisely ..Do you not get rather uncomfortable sleeping in a "Hamock"..? Normal people have beds to sleep in..! huh.gif

Wow dunderhead he was in a hammock not a bed!? Well in that case he must be lying... yes.gif

Planes have red lights on. As for the silence thing which is noted in many UFO sightings, whenever i see jets in the sky i never actually hear them, theyre too high up.

I'm in maryland and have seen weird stuff in the sky recently. I think it's our own military, not sure why, just a feeling. I've never seen a ufo, at least not to my knowledge, but I think they are around.

However, if it is indeed our own military, as someone else stated that truly does beg the question of why appear in broad daylight over dc???

My aunt lives in D.C. and she came up to my house for Easter this weekend. She had mentioned to me that she has noticed UFO's in the skies almost twice a week since March. She thinks that it is a military flying object that could be possibly a test. She says she only sees it at night and if you think about it that would be the best time to test fly.

However, she also mentioned that she cannot hear any sounds even when it appeared that it wasn't that high up. She believes in UFO's (aliens) but she also doesn't jump to conclusions. She is going to take videos this week and send them to me. I will post it on here when I get it.
