[attachmentid=25056]This photo was taken on Easter at my mother in laws. I took about 10 pics in a row and this one showed up with a possible orb on my sons head. It was taken at abut 8pm in her basement where all the kids play. Perhaps it is just dust or whatever but it is pretty wild.
I did not see any dust floating around at anytime. I do not know much about orbs or this sort of thing.

I think this is a great spirit orb capture. Thank you for sharing it.

I contrasted the photo to bring out the contours inside the orb. Many of my photographs of orbs contain a similar snake-like structure.

Thanks for sharing lol.

Drat. I knew Alisa would get here first. tongue.gif

But, I think it's dust, seeing as it was in the basment and all.
And, then again, that's just me. I don't put a lot of faith in orbs.

Though, were you experiencing anything strange at the time? Perhaps cold spots? (Again, it's in a basement, cold drafts would be common and easily explained.)

In a setting like that, it's too easy to disprove something.

Lol, that piece of dust must be amazing to reflect so many different surface areas etc and it would probably be quite a large piece of dust. (I wasn't trying to be sarcastic btw, just what I thought.) I have no idea about photograhy but this isn't the usual dust caught on camera pictures that you see so it could be either amazing piece of dust or a spirit lol or some other reasons.

I keep an open mind about orbs, I usually just enjoy the pictures rather than debating whether it is a spirit or not. But if someday I get some good orbs pic, I will be more sure about their existence as spirits... No such luck for me so far tho I haven't had time to try it properly yet.

Yes, it can be dust. I've captured photographs in my living room (and, yes, these were dust particles) which had dust orbs, large ones. For a while I was skeptical about them, but I realized there's a hole in our ceiling, and insulation as well as dust fall through.

This can be dismissed too easily; I wouldn't go jumping to conclusions.

Let us remember...this is just a speck of dust. Some speck! Some dust! LONECAT

its not reflecting surface areas, the textured effect is caused by the covering of the flash and the dust being way out of focus i believe

CAPS, welcome to UM...That is a good picture.

Dust is not flat, and has different demension and various shapes, causing it to reflect like some-what like disco ball.

Edited: Also, there are many more particles that create the same effect.

Just the truth.... and it might be real and might not though it is one of the better ones.

I agreed with Bubs that the contours and highlights are showing surfaces within the orb. It is one of the best photos I have seen so far that clearly shows the snake structure.

^^^ Cheeky still says it's dust (or the like, seeing as it is in a basement). tongue.gif

Because dust particles are like snowflakes, no two are the same.

It could also be asbestos! O:
