Teens mistake scarecrow for corpse

German teenagers called the police after mistaking a scarecrow for a dead body.

Hermann Alditz, 15, and Johann Schneider, 16, from Krefeld, spotted the scarecrow dressed in men's clothes with a plastic bag over its head while peering through a window into a neighbour's cellar.

Too scared to approach the owner of the house, they called police and reported finding a corpse.

Local officers arrived on the scene immediately, but quickly discovered the corpse was actually made of straw.

That was classic. I wonder how the cops prooved to them that it wasn't a dead body.

Well some scarecrows can look realistic.

It was probably some left over Halloween decoration! It's good to see people getting involved though! Even if they are nosy peeping toms!
