I've seen this film and I loved it. I thought for 1922 they were using clever effects. I saw Shadow of the Vampire first. It was what got me even more interested in watching the original. The one with Willem Defoe and John Malkovich is hilarious in my opinion. Everyone is so serious and melodramatic.

I've seen both. I agree Shadow of the Vampire was pretty amusing.

The 1922 film is really cool. I have it on DVD. (I didn't realize it was public domain)
I enjoyed the special effects. I beleive there were some scenes shown in negative and colored? Also, the makeup on Nosferatu was pretty good. I think that was closer to what Bram Stoker had in mind when he wrote Dracula.
The good-looking, charming vampire in a tux came later.....

Do you know about more old movies that you think i'm able to see in google video?

Nosferatu = very good; The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari = excellent.

F.W. Murnau is a genius! Nosferatu is one of his greats with a great atmosphere and amazingly spooky Count Orlok. "Shadow of the vampire" ruined everthing mostly because of Defoe he could make the Max Schrek character. If you like F.W. Murnau take a look at his best (my opinion) work "Faust" (1926). It's very nice that there are people still charmed by the old Nosferatu original.gif
