Just a few days ago I was trying to relax and enter a trance, when suddenly a picture of an old woman unexpectedly, and unwillingly, popped into my head. I remember her as being very scary, like a witch. I only had the picture in my head for no more than a second but I remember it clearly. The woman had long hair, teeth like a vampire, and she seemed to be at least 100 years old. It was strange, but this was not the first time a random picture has popped into my head. I seem to get these images in my head maybe once a month. I only get the images when my eyes are closed, or when I'm trying to astral project. I haven't just seen an old lady though. I've also seen other people, but never an object or animal.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, describe the image.

When I began medatating, I would see random images with my mind's eye. It doesn't happen too often anymore. I believe that it is just our minds having a hard time relaxing.

But for some reason the images I see are ALWAYS scary for some reason.

I remember seeing a devil's face... Just lights playing tricks on me. And once I had this really smart image of how universe worked (or I thought lol) for like two seconds but then when I tried to remember it again, it disappeared and couldn't trace it back..

lol this happens to me when im relaxed but i rarely get scary images anymore, one time i had an image of how gravity worked but then when i thought about it, it had a hole in it with flying animals so i scraped it

Once I had a vision of terror, an image appear in my head, of myself . . .

I was mangled and dead in the passenger seat of my car (i believe it was my car), a dark and erie looking night, thunderstorm to boot. And everytime the lightning would flash, i could see this vivid image of my dead face. It was too real, my bleeding corpse leaning was lifelessly against the window!

It was too real, and a scary. It haunted my mentals for days.

Horrific, the scariest image i ever seen. I have seen images before, (im not crazy lol!) but i now see that they are not all pleasent.

one time,i had a dream,where i got shot,and it was through my own eyes,and well,it was really really cold when it went through

When I was younger, if I wasn't really occupied with anything in particular and was just sitting and passing time and thinking, I would occasionally see what basically amounts to the old Windows "Pipes" screensaver (this was before that was around) - I would see three-dimensional cylindrical objects leaving trails, and passing in front of each other, forming constantly overlapping but apparently random and meaningless patterns, and they did this very quickly, almost at a frantic speed. I don't really see those anymore, but I have an awful lot more on my mind as an adult.

I used to sort of get flashes. Now they are even more random, usually ancient symbols or light shining through a forest.

WOW! Here I was thinking I was the only crazy person getting random pictures in my head. But my scary pictures sound like a dream when rather than a nightmare when compared to your experiences!

They are not random. They are formd from your subconscious effort to sort the most active thoughts in your head. My guess is that you are a fan of scarey stuff and that plays a lot in your head. I dont see anything metaphysical in this...

I often get images...usually of people in need of help... or just as they are falling...tripping..or getting in jured.. I often feel it too...It's been going on for years.. sometimes ..I know these people are dead... It's similar to the show Medium... except I can't hear them.. so what I do is pray for them ..and visualize them being comforted..helped.. or ask angels to help them...

Don't know if it works.. but it's all I can think to do...if it's real...gotta..trust you see it for a reason...

As far as such imagery I would suggest reading about the collective unconscious which has been compared to such concepts as Quantum consciousness.

I have gotten something like that before, it was in a vision when u was trying to meditate. I remember a symbol i that i have never seen before and it's colour was a bunch of eyes, if anyone is good at figuring out what symbols mean i have been trying to figure this one out for a while. I will try to make it and post my result.





there is the symbol i saw i couldnt figure out how but it is supposed to have a small reddish tint to it.

LOL ..... schizophrenia is too broad. It's underlying symptoms are neverending. Who knows what it is.

Wow! that happens to me to ALL the time! but i don't see scary things. I see random people(like you, only people. not animals nor objects). I don't meditate so I get this images whenever I'm with my eyes closed. It can just be about people interacting with each other or doing random things.

Sometimes it makes me wonder if it is the unseen trying to communicate with us

Images in your head implies a vision of some sort while schizophrenia is the mind actually tricking itself into believing that you are physically seeing the hallucination, i think but please correct me if im wrong

correct but those are visions that you see when your eyes are OPEN, not close.

True, even if some can be vividly evil... tis still your imagination. Just lively up yourself, feel better, i havent seen anything bad in a long time.

I used to be into "channeling" and I came into contact with evil spirits or entities (you could even say demons) They could, if i allowed, communicate with me through my head or send images of things to my head, the more i allowed it the more they could do it. after i vowed not to perform this anymore because I was being harassed by these evil spirits to an extreme, they would send sick and/or evil little images into my head and i would be forced to mentally block them. So idk maybe these are spirits(good or bad) sending these images to you guys, when you are in a specific mind set, that would enable them easier access to your mind.

I was meditating once, as one does, and I had a vivid image of a little girl dying and kind of floating away. First I could see her screaming and then I could see her face turning into a skull and just going up and up! I wondered if it was me in a previous incarnation?

I have had an vivid image before, they can be very unpleasent, and they can be beautiful.

however, i doubt we are all "schitzo"... i think we are merely gifted, or maybe these are a warning, or a burden.

a few weeks ago it was rainy outside...and I asked my friend if she wanted to get together and she invited me to go with her to this store but it was a 25 minute drive on the highway to get there. I said yes...but then for the next couple of hours I kept getting flashes of a head on collision between two cars on the highway..and having an overactive imagination.. I thought I might be sending myself a not so subtle message that driving on the highway in the rainy weather was definitely Going against my better judgement..so..not wanting my images to come true.. lol..I called my friend and told her I had changed my mind and to drive carefully.

she was gone a really long time(and i was FREAKING OUT lol)...but when she came back we got together and she told me (without knowing that i had had those images flash)..that she took such a long time because she had been stuck in traffic due to an accident..and when she finally got through..she drove past it and saw that it was two cars slammed into eachother and they were facing eachother.

That was the only time I had ever experienced images flashing in my head while i was conscious...and it really scared the crap outta me.

Actually, this is quite reminiscent of much old testament imagery-several prophets reported seeing strange creatures with "many eyes"-sorry i can't get specific right now, i'd have to do some research-

Back when I was a teenager and just coming out of the dream state, I hate this strong image of an old anitque inkwell. It was just like zooming in and out and circling around against a black background. It was an extremely vivid image though. When I fully woke up I felt weird about the image, as I had never experienced something like that before. I could also picture it perfectly in my mind. I hadn't seen an inkwell in years and surely had not thought of one so it was strange it would appear like that in my mind. As it turns out, a couple weeks or months later, my parents took me to get new bedroom furniture. I'm sure you can guess what happend next. I saw the inkwell at the furniture store. It stopped me dead in my tracks. It is a unique highly stylized inkwell, and not something I could or would have imagined I purchased it because I felt I just had to have it. It has been almost 20 years now, and nothing has ever come of that ink well and it hasn't played any part in my life. It sits on the desk that we bought that same day.

Wow, I had the same thing happen. I was on vacation in a rental car and had left my car at the rental company. Well about a day before heading home (actually to a hotel I was staying at long term because of the army) I had images of my car, which was a rare model, plowed into a telephone pole at an intersection by a hotel that I was staying at. The image would appear just like a flash of a memory. It would come out of nowhere. So, I was freaked out driving home and not looking foward to getting my car because I thought I was going to get into an accident. Well, I had to pass through the intersection on the way back, and guess what? I saw my exact model car, same color and everything, smashed into a telephone pole just like I had seen in the image. It was a strange feeling, I was relieved that it wasn't me, I felt bad for whoever it was and also thought, what is the point of having an image like that if it wasn't even me in the accident? All it did was cause me to worry over nothing.

I am often woken in the middle of the night by a loud knocking on my door.......I've also woken to "seeing" my room full of smoke....the latter can be quite alarming .....It's always the same two things that happen ...This has happened to me countless times...

Has anyone else has this kind of experience?

The same thing happens to me but it happens when I'm trying to go to sleep. Random images indeed...I don't actually remember them but some where scary like you described and some where just normal things....I think they where all people too. I don't Astral project or have any experiences in anything paranormal.

Its kind of weird in how they appear....the image will usually appear very small as if it where a sticker on a tv(best I can explain). The images never move and only last for less then a second.

I have also concluded that the images are not from memory but may be imagination.

Sounds to me as if he was watching to many horror films, but I'm sure that couldn't be it!

I personally hate most Horror films because they have dumb plots and are not even scary at all.

I like the idea of horror, b/c it's supposed to be scary, but it sucks sucks sucks!!! and stupid.
