WTF ??

I didn't understand what you were saying in refrence to ? (did anyone?) I will ? you if I want. Stop me, go on. Are you going to pop round and pull my ? key lol.

Why all the hostility????
Everyone in here, including myself has tried to help you but you are self destructive. If you were mistaken about the size of the bird, why get so irate with me? I offered you links to 2 very large species. You did not consider this information, you just went out on attack. Consider the information and then tell us if we are helping or not. You said after your first attack on me (and I quote) "That was fun" - so what exactly is your intention - do you actually have information you want hellp with or have you come here bored in search of a flame war?
Put the hatchet down man. People are trying to help you, appreciate it.

Radar Observations
One of the developments of our modern age of electronics has been the discovery that migrating birds show up on radar screens used in monitoring aircraft. At first. the screen images caused by flying birds were a mystery to radar operators, and they designated the dots "angels." Later when their nature was understood, students of bird migration seized on the unique opportunity to obtain information on movements of birds over extensive areas. thumbsup.gif

I would say definition of your post here is rant.
He did say that this not what he saw. I provided 2 possibles that have now been eliminated. Scientific method. If you listened to other posts you would be aware of that. I have been of help to the thinking members as there are two leads that do not need chasing. I tried to help the fellow, if he is only here to fight the mods will sort him nice and quick.

Ever so offten i will see a hawk, buzzard, or eagle fly over my house. One day i was just stepping out side when i looked up i saw a giant bird. If my math was right then its body must of been about the size of a small car. I have seen cranes and egrits before too (once a flock of about 8). Plus i have seen these birds in the months of late summer and mid fall, but only when the wind is strong. Does anyone eles have any tails of large birds.

Hrrmzzz, no one has said you were wrong. I never meant to say you did not know the difference. I did make a blunder not seeing you were in the States at the time, but you country listed in Germany. I apologised for that error. That is why I suggested the Great Bustard. More common in Germany, big bird.
Look at this rationally.
Location was wrong - my error
Bird body size was wrong - your error
Bad information was giving bad answers. Frogfish also thinks you saw something like a Condor. Is that so difficult to comprehend? Remember, you are a facelss new person we do not know. You could be genuine, you could be a hoaxer. I offered you help and you attacked me for it (granted egged on b y thecreeper). It will b e a long time before I contribute squat to any thread you open in the future.
Why is it so impossible you could be mistaken? I tried to tell you my field of expertise is scale. You called me a d!ck. Gee, what ever happened to thanks? I tried to help you for Pete's sake. thecreeper gets all threads in turmoil like this with myslelf or frogfish, or toker, in fact anyone who tires to provide genuine facts.
If you saw a large bird, that is fine, nobody says you didn't we are offering what we see as rational explainations is all. thecreeper will agree with anything out of the ordinary. Poor choice of ally first up friend. Don't be so suprised I lashed back, what would you do if someone tried to help you and they called you a d!ck?

Come on, is this entirely truthful? If I had the location so wrong, why did you reserch birds from Europe as opposed to birds from America like I did? Yoiu said the links were useless because the sighting was in America, this links I provided are for birds common to Europe, specifically reside some time of the year in Germany. That was my mistake, remember?

I directed you to some sites as you admit (is that the other reason for calling me a d!ck? providing you with links?). Sorry they were not to you liking, how dare I try to help you solve your mystery. Bad person I am helping others and all. no.gif

M8, that is what I always say thumbsup.gif Go back and have a second look, if thecreeper did that, he would not get offside with half the people he does.
I think yu and I are a shining example:- ready to tear each other apart a page ago, now smiley faces, original.gif shows what a mature attitude between two intelligent adults is capable of doesn't it thumbsup.gifI can understand why you got upset with the insults, they were not initially intended that way, my sense of humour is like a fine wine, very dry and spoils quickly with time.

Unfortunately, without taking a picture, it is very hard to ever determine exactly what it was. We live in such a diverse and wonderous place that we can often see new things we cannot identify. I do not think one picture exists of the Thunderbird, which sort of cast quite some doubt on it's existance, I heard an Indian Chief took one, but having never seen it, I cannot make fair comment.

I doubt it's a new species...

The Doctor
It is easy to mis-judge something after just a glance, when I was younger I once could have sworn I saw a toucan perched on the roof of the house across the road from where I lived. I was sure it had exactly the same beak size and shape. Of course my theory was ridiculous seeing as I lived in Scotland and so after a while of musing on it I put it down to just being a crow or seagull. OK so it's not quite a thunderbird but it just proves that it's easy to make mistakes.
