In a recent thread it was stated that Richard Ellis claimed that a friend of his hoaxed the sea serpent that we saw in San Francisco Bay. It is true that Richard Ellis made a statement in a program titled "Histories Mysteries Monsters of the Deep" that while he was on a cruise ship in Baja, California the leader of the cruise told him that he had engineered the Stinson Beach monster as a Halloween trick. Richard Ellis then claimed that was proof that the Stinson Beach sighting was a hoax. We contacted Richard Ellis and asked him for the name of the person he claimed had admitted hoaxing the Stinson Beach sea serpent. We also asked him to contact the person again for more details about his claimed hoax. Richard Ellis responded to our email and told us that he had talked to the person who made the claim again and he told Richard that he DID NOT hoax the Stinson Beach sea serpent and that Richard had misunderstood what he originally said. Richard Ellis apologized to us and the Stinson Beach witnesses for making his erroneous statement in the program in a private email he sent to us which we still have. He also said that he would try to find a way to correct the misinformation he had stated in "Histories Mysteries" in the future. If you have any doubts about what we are saying you can contact him and ask him yourself. We don't think it is necessary to post his entire email to us here but we will do it if we have to.

I wouldn't be surprised if he 'misunderstood' what his friend said on purpose. He's always trying to act like a cryptozoologits, and then tries to disprove any sea monsters. If he fails to categorically disprove one, then he claims that the witnesses were only seeing his favorite creature, the giant squid.

We wouldn't be suprised if he "misunderstood" on purpose either. His false statement was right at the end of the segment discussing the Stinson Beach sighting. Since the Stinson Beach sighting was so well documented and had so many witnesses who described the animal in detail after viewing it through binoculars we were so suprised to hear him make the claim that he knew who hoaxed the sea monster that we had to confront him right away. We will give him the benefit of the doubt for now that it was an honest mistake on his part but if he doesn't correct his mistake at some time in the future we will try and get him to admit his mistake publically. After all it was a BIG mistake on his part.
