Sure. I'll bet they let it go right away..To several area restaurants and food merchants..

This croc was not caught and killed in NO. This is a Nile Crocodile...Nile crocs this size prowl the waters of Africa. A big croc indeed, but not big for its species.

^Yes, the story said the Mayor wanted it stuffed for tourist value.
Frogfish is right, this is a large specimen, not for it's species though, just camera angles playing on the massive bulk of the beast to make it more impressive.
Pretty sure the local Saltie at Currumbin Bird Sanctuary is bigger. Scary looking up close.

Its definetly a large Nile croc...Nile crocs are the worlds secomd largest crocodillian reaching lengths of 25 feet...The "Saltie" of Indonesia and Autralia holds the record of 29 feet.
I am guessing this was a rogue croc killing humans...This tragedy happens all to common in Africa

This is what happens when human expansion collides with Animal habitat. Sadly, if the natives move inland, they escape the crocs but then start to clash with lions.
That croc could never swallow a impala whole, let alone an ELEPHANT. Crocs rip and tear their meat through "death rolling".
