Nice pictures Frank...I like the second one the best.

Thanks, Frogfish. It's my favorite, too. I especially liked the arrangement of the evergreens, adding greater depth to the landscape. The diverted stream shrouded by the grass creates a bit of mystery. The section of the Sierra Mountains in the background is Kirkwood Ski Resort.

I'll add a couple more from the Tahoe region, one from Santa Cruz, CA, and edit the prior post to include the links.

Nice Meold!

That second one is my fave! yes.gif

colourless, I LOVE the last picture!

I attempted it a while ago, but there was nothing I could rest the camera on so I to act like a statue and not move...

2 out of 7 were decent of the ones i took, the other 5 looked like I must have been drunk taking them laugh.gif

w00t.gif You all have awesome photography.
I'm extremely envious.

These are my attempts..

Dos

And I just thought this cloud was pretty. =]

The second one would be so much better without the powerline...When tring to take pictures like that, avoid clutter.

These geese crossed in front of my van in my neighborhood. Not a particularly good pic, but it's cute and a bit weird:

Yes, the third one is the best.

That's one of my favourites too. There's something about sunrises and sunsets that makes such good photos. I guess it's the myriad of colours otherwise unseen at any other part of the day. Except during storms. Storms are great too.

Another sunset photo at Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand 3 months before the tsunami struck.

Here's my favorite photo. It was taken in Alabama on the edge of a lake in February.user posted image

It's lovely. I love the streaks of blue amongst the orange in the sky. Was it during sunrise or sunset?
googlybear
Thank you so much for the compliment! It was taken at sunset.

these are just a few samples of my work. I am a 14 yr veteran storm spotter for NOAA in Illinois and these are a few of my favorite pictures

the first orange sky with cotton balls came just following a hailstorm to hit southeast Illinois in April.
The next two followed each other..all these 3 in a duration of 25 minutes.

the tornado was taken near Rend Lake August 2001.
It tore up some roofs and uprooted some trees. Everyone was ok.

I have rainbows, storm clouds, lightning. I have had a lightning strike come down and split a tree in half and set it ablaze 40 feet from me.[attachmentid=26519][attachmentid=26520][attachmentid=26521][attachmentid=26522]

I have to say.. "it has been a pleasure to read and view all 10 pages of this thread".

There are some absolutely fantastic photo's posted and it has inspired me to get my digital camera out tomorrow and try my hand, if I can get a few photo's half as good as most of these here I would be pleased.

This thread should be pinned.. (just my opinion)

I took this photo some time ago. This bus was attacked by criminals after the police denied some things the prisioners asked for the World Cup. Such Plasma TV 42".

They burnt this bus right under my apartment window.

Eu citizen, host your images at a site like www.photobucket.com. Then insert the URL into the 'img' tag. This is an image tag: [img][/img]. The URL goes between the tags.

Thx Coldethyl and Frogfish!

Eu Citizen, use photobucket.com, I use it to host my images. Very good hosting service for images.

Yeah, I keep thinking I need the old 3-D glasses for this one wink2.gif When using longer shutter speeds you still need to keep the camera steady.

Just a thought FF - these type of piccies would look better without the datestamp.
BurnSide
*sigh*

My camera busted.
And i can't afford a new one. sad.gif

I'm gonna start saving for a really expensive beaut, but it'll be a few months.

Fantastic pictures everyone!

It's a Kodak digi...I can't turn it off sad.gif

Without a tripod, it was hard to keep the camera steady...Plus, the batteries were dying out...

That's a bit o' bad luck there Burn...Well, think of it as a chance to upgrade...
BurnSide
Good call.

Until then.... cellphone piccies!!
