how do you upload your photos into here? i try copy and paste but cannot. pls go see my photo here www.happygladandcontent.blogspot.com

Try using www.photobucket.com, start an account (it's free), and then down load your images there then you can paste the img link from photobucket to your post. Do a preview of your post first to make sure it works. cool.gif

Hey, I'm in my second year of a photography degree. I'm loving it.
Once I've graduated I want to go into wildlife photography, however in the mean time I want to experiment as much as possible. My work is mainly documentary, but I like to use a variety of formats including digital, video, medium format, 35mm, polaroid etc.

Great additions! More more more, keep them coming people!!! Fylgja, your gallery is fantastic! Love the plants, especially that bottom tree, Harks. yes.gif

Would love to see some of your shots, Oblique Spiral!

Here's a few of my more recent photos:

very nice episteme, I like the dock and the jellyfish one!

what camera do you use?

Oblique Spiral
Seeing as this is a Paranormal forum I thought the first photo I put here should be from the ghost photos I did.

I took this a few years back for my art foundation course. Its all done with the camera, not edited on photoshop afterwards at all.

Most of these were taken on my Cannon. It's a Digital Rebel XT 350, SLR, 8mp. I may have taken the beach one on my crusty old Epson, I'm drawing a blank as to the specific camera right now and I can't check as I'm on the road. But I can tell you the word "megapixel" wasn't used when I bought it, it does not write exif data (most didn't at the time), and it's been dropped too many times to count - including once last summer in the ocean. They just don't make them like that anymore! grin2.gif

how do you make the person look ghostly?

Two ways. Overlapping images in photoshop.

Or

Making the room kinda dark, and setting the shutterspeed to an appropiate speed - say 10seconds. So, you sit on the bed for say, a second, then get out the way until the shutter closes.

I've never done it as well as Oblique has, takes skill~

Another way of doing it is on a double exposure. This means that basically you take two pictures on one frame. I can't honestly remember what I used for this photo.
Either way you definately want to use a tripod, or have the camera set up very steady because if the camera moves even one little bit it'll mess your photo up completely.
I have some more photos taken from that project somewhere, they might be on my dads computer at home but I'll have a good look on my computer now. I was basically exploring the ghostly qualities of my house. Its an old black and white cottage, its got at least one (friendly) ghost in it I took some photos in the room where she died which I was kind of scared of doing because I wasn't sure if I would see more than one ghostly image.

With the photo I've already posted I was quite pleased because I thought the pompoms might move due to me taking my weight off the bed but it turned out quite nicely I think.

-slaps forehead- >.<

You know, I haven't used a film SLR in so long that thought of a double-exposure never popped up in my head. I guess that's one of the evils of converting to digital SLR... I should try and balance it out and use my film SLR sometime. laugh.gif

I'll look forward to your other ghostly photographs~

I have to say I think I prefer digital. For me its easier and cheeper than shooting on film. Plus if I shoot my uni projects on film I have to develop the films myself which takes ages and I have to fight to use to the enlargers, then if the photographs aren't just right I have to go out and reshoot it, on digital I can see if the photographs are right and correct any mistakes right away. I'm pretty sure I used digital on these photographs so yeah I did use the long time exposure. However sometimes I use my square format medium format camera (Bronica SQA), even with that I turn it all digital pretty quick though. I develop the negatives at uni, then scan them in on the uni scanners (they're really high quality) and print them off that way.

I think my ghostly photos are on my dads computer back home so I can't upload them just yet sad.gif

However I did find these photos which are kinda ghostly tongue.gif

They are from the project I did when I was playing with light, again I didn't use photoshop on any of these.

Ahh, I like!

Once I graduate I want to go into wildlife photography. Basically being paid to go round the world and take pictures of animals tongue.gif

A few years ago I paid to go on a photography trip to Marwell Zoo, it was amazing. They organised it really well, we were allowed to get closer to the animals than anyone else. The zoo had two barriers for each different type of animals. We were allowed within the first barrier for some of the more dangerous animals. However with animals like the ring tailed Lemur we were actually allowed in the enclosure with them, and they were really curious as to what was going on. I shot about 10 rolls of film that day. I haven't scanned those photos onto my computer however there are some photos from that day that I would like to upload onto here.

Yeah, digital is so much more convenient. It's why I haven't used my film in so long, but I love film. It feels... I dunno. It just has that photography feel to it.

Aw! I loved the cloning technique in college, I wish I saved them from college - only have them somewhere printed on paper sad.gif . And the light play is the most fun photography techniques ever, but it's the same problem as the cloning. Which sucks.

I love the cloning picture though thumbsup.gif

I want to get your OPs on these two light pictures if y'all don't mind. I'm working on a project. I started a thread about it but I'm not getting much feedback.

I am playing with light in these. Digital camera

No enhancement. The one professor I showed them to said I shouldn't have light bleed off the end of the photograph but I don't know what to do about it

Frog, I love the "Flyfishing in Nova Scotia". Breathtaking~

I always love yours, Frogfish. I can never pick a favorite... Long exposures over flowing water are fantastic, but I'm always fascinated with reflections so Flyfishing in Nova Scotia is great as well. But I love the colors in the Flygear photos as well. The rest are great too! yes.gif

We were going through some holiday displays and I caught Santa napping. Light conditions were horrid and I didn't have my tripod. I took about 10 shots and they were all a tad on the blurred side (what can I say, I had the jitters and the photographer was giving me a dirty look!), but I thought it was cute:

Here's one of the light displays on a hill overlooking my hometown, not a fantastic photo but neat if you've never seen displays like this:

Probably the easiest way if you can take the image against a total black or white (only with digital) background. Take the first image at about 80% percent of the measured reading and superimpose the second (the "ghost") exposed at 40-50% of the meter reading.

Cannon PhotoStitch. I see a bit of a line I missed, need to touch it up (I use photoshop for that also). First time trying the software there, I think I should have gotten more of the fall trees on the left side to even it out. Yours is beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, where about was it taken?
frogfish
British Columbia, near Whistler...one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

If you ever want to try autostitch, it is a great program. AND IT'S FREE!!!
