I think goddess/god was born and is given life in the minds of humanity. It's hard wired, sort of speak, into us. Believing all that is awesome in the world at large, because we are allegedly the most intelligent species, has an explanation we can apply as if we truly
know what we're talking about.
And so we contrive a power behind it all, one giant brush stroke of cause, called god. And then we flesh it out so that, of all things "it" creates, "we" are special. And so we create constructs within our existence that include proof of that, by writing books called bibles, and anointing those like us only different that are entrusted as the emissaries to the power(s), that we title as "reverend" or "clergy".
And all the while there are those that say the opposite of god is the devil, that dual nature and ally of tricks and evils, which explains the bad things we witness happening in life, for which we have no real explanation for, save
that, which is also contrived by us and fleshed out as; satan, lucifer, evil, the tempster, etc...
And then we put
them at odds, our god and devils, which are in conflict to claim us, that brought them to life in the first place. And on we live, and preach, and pray and fear for our souls, which we imagine are also there because someone thought of it too. And we hope to go to heaven, Valhalla, summer land, or any other named paradise after life, which we aspire too because that was the final chapter in closing out the book of comfort contrived by mortal minds fraught with insecurities at the thought of being alone, when in fact all we had need to do was look around and realize that was never true, and instead was rendered to make us feel comfort in being superior because we were created by god to be so. And all the time, it's all in our mind and when we die, that quite literally no longer matters.
But it comforts while alive, to think ourselves special. And it gives some something to do, seeking to invest their lifetime energy in living and working so that everyone else that thinks on god, thinks as they do, and therein is the origin of missionaries, and those that would proselytize the creative imaginings of what is really the self-delusion of a lonely flesh.
