So I'm interested to know why "ghosts" give off cold spots? I've considered that, since "ghosts", being dead, are sort of the opposite of the living, and since the living give off heat, perhaps the spirits of the dead give off cold. That doesnt seem satisfying, though. (What happens if theres a ghost of a cold-blooded thing wink2.gif ).

So does anyone have any explanation for this? I know its a common "truth" about such spirits, but whats the reasoning?
Taka
Cold spots are said to be caused when a spirit tries to manifest, by draining the area of its energy.

You can also get warm spots as well - engery related......

I haven't really heard much of 'warm spots' as much as I have of cold spots. Then again, they could always be caused by a drafty window or open vent.

ghosts use the heat energy in the air to manifest, thus causing cold spots.can also be the opposite, using cold energy causing hot spots.no reason is known why this happens.

I own a five acre lot and there is a particular spot that when I walk thru it, even in the heat of the summer, but only at night, the temp drops close to ten degrees.

I think it may be a low spot and cool air is just drawn to it, but it is not obviously lower than the rest of the lot.

There was also some murders in the area back in the 1930's, so that always crosses my mind too. A grown son killed his father and two other men, before finally taking his own life.

There are also some rocks that are basically buried in the ground within 150 feet of this spot that could be headstones from early times, but there doesn't seem to be a set pattern, such as most burial areas would be. Probably just rock pushed up by cedar roots.

But the cold area is baffeling. blink.gif

Have you taken any other readings from the area? Conducted any type of experiments. Possibly take some EMF meter readings, Get a camera system and look for anomalies in the film, and so on with a regular camera.

I mean, conduct an investigation of the cold spot to scientificly rule out all possibilities until left with a conclusion. That's what I'd do...But I'm weird. hmm.gif

Hi, I've experinced this as well on a certain piece of ground but also with warm patchs and this piece of ground had natrual water spring networking underneath the ground, it could be possible you have underground spring or bore in this area?

I've taken some photos, but I didn't notice any thing unusual. I took some more yesterday, so I'll check them out too.

I think groundwater could be a possible explaination. There is a well within 50 feet of this cold spot and the well has never had a problem giving us water, even in the dryest times of the year.

However, there's no denying that cold chill that runs up your skin when you go through that spot.

I'm in the process of building my house and part of it will be over this spot. So I will get much more experience with this spot in a few months.

Just because the cold spot is perhaps caused by a natrual cause like water, doesn't mean it's just nothing! - Water springs, flows are very high engery resources for spirits and ghosts. The most comon haunted location is the bathroom! followed by kitchen...And yeah it's because of all the piped water - fav spirit entry and leaving spots.

The cold spot although caused by the energy flow of the water underneath with the natrual energy flow of the land they act like lay lines in drawing in activity - can be used as a natrual vortex!

anvil makes a good point.it is believed that spirits can use water kinda like a starting point.if i felt funny when i walked across that section of land,i don't believe i would build my house on it.you may be asking for problems later on.

It's really too late now. Too much is finished.

There are a lot of ground water and caves in the area. There are also six or seven cemetaries within a mile; mostly small family plots.

One of the caves is large but only accessible during very dry times of the year. I'm not planning to go in it, far too dangerous for my splunking experience.

The main thing that makes me think of a ghost is the murders in the area during the 1930's. One of the men was shot off a wagon on the road that runs around my property. He may have very well died on the property, details are sketchy to exact locations. All four of the dead men (three murdered, one suicide) are buried within a mile of my place.

If I notice any activity, I'll post it.
