Sorry ...sometimes I get totally off on tangents - I try to keep my posts on topic but I can't stand it anymore I have to let someone else know.....
I am not posting this to toot my own horn - wait who am I kidding YES I AM! Starting in April my mom and I started attending Weight Watcher meetings. While my mom has hit her goal last month I still have a bit to loose. I have been doing really. I have gained three times. Once was .5 lbs, once was .2 lbs and once was 5 lbs (had a bad week) Yesterday we totaled it (total weight loss) and I have lost.....(someone give me a drum roll)
42 pounds!!!!

I am so exicted! By next summer I hope for the first time in my life to walk down the beach in a bikini! I've been fat all my life and I can not tell you how wonderful and liberating it makes me feel. I say to anyone who wants to loose weight - try weight watchers it's a wonderful program!

I've been trying to get fat so i can join the Army.
I do weights, get like a pig and still not gain 1kg!
I have one of those bodies where i burn food off quickly. I can eat a whole family pizza, wait 30min to 1 hour (for the food to burn off) and then eat another. I guess it has its advantages

That sounds great. My building has a free fitness room, but I think I need a to join a program too. Is there any difference between weight watchers and jenny craig.

Thank you everyone! Dunno never tried Jenny but I think you have to actually buy her food....which is stupid cause I eat whatever I got at home - with a few moderations

Well I did it because i wanna wear a freakin bikini (for one thing) there are many other reasons but tht is usually the one I tell everyone. Another and more important one is that I have managed to eliminate a thyroid problem (which was the source of the weight to begin with) by doing WW. That has saved me tons of money in medication as well as testing! I don't remember who else said they droped a few pounds but way to go! Oh - and by the way I still have a chocolate bar once a week!

Awwwwww shucks, Kismit...... thank you!! I really didn't have a choice.
Due to all the Prednisone I've had to take to survive, I gained weight. Geeze, with tons of Pred daily, all one has to do is LOOK at food and that's 4 pounds, easy.
The Pred also caused Diabetes. So? In order to get the diabetes under control, I had to change my diet and start counting all those troublesome 'carbs.' That's all I did.... I'm still losing. In fact? Last visit to the Doc, he told me NOT to lose anymore weight. Geeze, he's never happy, is he? lol!!
thanks for the encouragement!

Be careful with weight loss. Make sure you aren't starving yourself. In most cases with a poor diet (not enough food and not including any quality food), your body will lose most of it's muscle before it loses much fat, in which case you could end up looking a bit slimmer, but actually be in worse shape and in more danger of health problems. So, Keep exercise UP, keep healthy food UP, and get rid of all junk food. Your body will thank you and you won't go hungry.

Dust........ Excellent advice!
I never set out to lose weight, although I knew I'd feel better if I did.
Just sticking with the diabetes schedule worked for me.

HA! if I had to go hungry I sure wouldn't be doing this I like to eat too much! WW makes sure you are eating properly - you have to have like 8 veggies/fruits per day and 8 cups of water and two servings of milk products!
