Its funny, when the very first Legend of Zelda game came out for NES everyone was shocked at its graphics.
It also was the first game to ever have the feature when you could save your data.

So true. No game ive ever played has ever come close to the fun The Legend of Zelda for NES was. I just remember how my dad would stay up till 10AM in the morning playing Zelda, and there were no codes or walkthroughs to help you.

These days all you have to do is go onto a website and find out what you need to do to beat the level or whatever.

Yep, i sure do recall Zelda...nifty gold colored cartridge.

Wow!! I think I still have some of those broken controllers in the attic blush.gif

"Your parents help you hook it up!" ROFL!! There's one line that has been discreetly removed from every gaming system advert..

Good find thumbsup.gif

xD its funny how almost all 1980-90 adverts aimed at teens had rapping in them laugh.gif

the first game I played of zelda was on the nes, I think i was around 5 or 6 though.

I used to have it. I remember Nintendo said the battery should last five years. Lo and behold 5 years later I was unable to save my game. I opened up the cartridge to find the battery glued in. Prying it out just ruined the contacts.
Althalus
My memories of this game was originally trying to find the damn game, as it had here completely sold out. Now of course you can still have fun playing through the game if only to walk through it in a few hours.
MK ULTRA
Ahhh,those were days.
Duckhunt,Mario and that pointless robot thing.

At the time it was state of art.Cartridges??? Wow,the way the games slotted in.Amazing.

I was used to crappy tape!(Spectrum & Commador) hmm.gif

Okay, would I be showing my age if I said that I remember the days before the Atari?
Oh, and by the way, I still have mine and all the games. My husband has all his games as weel, but his Atari broke. I saw this thread and it said 1980s gamers, I guess I was thinking back too far. laugh.gif rofl.gif laugh.gif

I had an Atari, but it was an attachment to a ColecoVision. I just sold that a couple of years ago.

that says alot about the current games being made...
there is nothing as fun as some of those originals..
it might have just been a little dot, but you could play for hours and hours...
i still love those games, especially NES games.. but then that was my childhood.. iw as after atari but i bet i would have loved it as much if i had grown up with it like i did nentendo

True. To me nothing compares to NES because you really had no help or walkthroughs... which made the games more fun. When Zelda came out is was just so complex that it took some people years to beat.

you must be one of the lucky ones. Mine definitely died and they made the battery non-replaceable. It will probably one of the first games I download on the Wii.
