Finally, after all this time, the new Super Smash Bros game has been announced!

It will include new characters such as

Wario
Zero Suit Samus
Pit (Kid Icarus)
Metaknight (Kirby)

And my personal favorite...

SNAKE of Metal Gear Solid

The game will be released in early 2007, and will not be a Wii (Revolution) launch title.

can't beleive Konami let nintendo use snake... and I can't beleive nintendo would be stupid enough to accept it.

is it me, or is putting snake, the stealth one-man army, into a super smash bros a stupid idea... its like they're defiling his rank and title in the game world.

They should of stayed
with Nintendo made characters.

^why? If other gaming companies come to you nearly begging for you to put their character into the game, especially if its a big-name character you would of course do it. Metal Gear Solid games are immensly popular meaning Snake is well known and that may well attract MGS fans to the Wii and SSB.

Anyway Nintendo are allowing Japanese fans to come forth with suggestions for other characters and content for this game via the Nintendo of Japan website. Here's hoping Nintendo allow the other regions to have a say!

Quit trolling haters Kojima begged Snake to be in the game. The freaking game was delayed just to put Snake in it, thats why its not even going to be a launch game.

snake isn't meant to be all fun and games, FAR from it. he's a one-man army, out to rid the world of the most dangerous terrorists. and he's been put in super smash bros... sicking.

Maybe they felt it was a good idea to have a more serious character in the game?

i htink they should get charecters from fire emblem and all of the other nintendo games. get like 50 charecters.

^yes, stay with the Nintendo, or the more 'cartoonish' characters from other developers and make them more serious with all the brawl and fighting. Please don't try to make an already serious character less serious in a game predominant of cartoonish characters.

There are so many more characters other than Snake they can choose from.

Kojima is god he can do what ever he wants with snake and you will like it.

And snake is not out to destroy terrorist, play the game again and maybe you will realize Snake is the terrorist, he's against governments or any organizations that seek Metal Gear technology and or is trying to put an end to the Patriots.

Some people are taking this whole thing way too negatively. They should be HAPPY that Snakes in it! I find it friggin' awesome. Espescially that you get to use his box. All shall fear the box.

do you know WHY he's detroying metal gear technology? in the first MGS, liquid is going to use the metal gear to take over. Snake tries to prevent this terrorist from using metal gear, but then he's betrayed as he was injected with FoxDie by niomi (SP?).

he's destroying metal gear because it poses a giant threat to the entire world, if one contry has one or a whole fleet, you can bet that country will want to invade other countries making a world war. (and for some reason, these metal gears are under very lack security... I mean ocelot gets one in MGS 2)

Yeah I know why he trying to stop the spread of metal gear technology.

But it does not make Snake less of a terrorist whether he stops Liquid, a rouge russian army or the U.S. Gov't from getting Metal Gear.

And besides I believe Kojima said it himself in MGS4 some countries will consider you as a terrorist, enemy combatant, or ally depending on your actions.

obvisually, freedom fighters and terrorists are basically the same thing. depending on other's views.

you guys....its a game...meant for entertainment...all smash brothers is, is a compilation of video game characters composed to fight it out...just like marvel vs capcom, or street fighter vs marvel or whatever...its the same concept but taken in a diff direction...nintendo can and should use any character they feel will attract buyers.....thats what i would do


again people, its a game...dont chose snake as your character if you dont like him....its as easy as that

well MG used to be on Nintendo way back in the day anyway so why not have solid snake in the game?

i could care less about Snake at this point...I'm more stoked about the increasing possibility of Sonic being in Brawl.

The greatest video game rivalry of all time...Sonic v.s. Mario.

Seeing as their is that Sonic/Mario Olympics game coming out I will through a hissy fit if Sonic isn't in the game.

Nintendo has a very good business relationship with a lot of the powerhouse eastern third party developers so we could very well see a few more 3rd part characters filling up the Brawl roster.

Namco did the arcade version of Mario Kart and provided Pac-Man as a playable character for it...so theres a chance of him appearing in brawl. Square-Enix recent support of Nintendo recently and their development of Mario Hoops means that we may see some characters from them(probably not their playstation characters but more along the lines of archetypes like Black Mage as they did in Mario Hoops). Theirs also Capcom who did a few portable Zelda games for the big N and the GC was their console of choice for their REmakes and RE4.

I want to see:
1. Sonic
2. The Castlevania crew
3. Resident Evil crew
4. The Final Fantasy archtypes(The PS1 characters like Cloud and Squall seem out of the question.)
5. Pac-Man
6. Better selection of playable pokemon
7. Whatever Mario characters that haven't yet bin included(Waluigi, etc.)
