You should play the TBS game. So much fun. I conquered Africa, South Central Europe, and the Middle East in one game, then my friend borrowed it... I need to finish it!

get a no cd crack if you own the game.

At the moment there are The Brutii, The senate, Egypt and Me the Jullii...............Three huge empires and its a stand off.

I'm massing my troops along the egypt border ready for invasion, but the Brutii are massing ready to invade me!

Its going to be close!

I rekon that the Huns are best on Barbarion invasion, they are difficult to kill coz they have amazing cavelry. But i made the mistake of doing a siege with all my cavelry and no troops
I had to quit and lost sad.gif

Wish I could have some of the features on Barb invasion expansion on the Rome: original.

Lately (after ruling the world so many times) I've been taking to doing custom battles. Make hordes of spearmen or peasants as the enemy, and one group of those naked swordsmen for you, beef them up... and watch the bodies fly.

Amazing how one group of naked gauls can take on hundreds of spearmen like that.

If i were you lot i would head either to TWCENTER.NET OR Totalwar.org and download some of the mods. I mod the game myself with skins and provinces as such. Look for Europa Barbarurom or RTR mods as they are excellent

Rome Total Realism is probably my fav. Adds a bigger map. More cities. Makes the game real, as in historical units appear in the game, not things like wardogs and screeching women. Has a unique unit recruitemnt sysem too, meaning you cannot train a Roman unit outside of its native area, say, in India

SPQR mods is geared towards battles. There are not nearly as many cities, but there are not rebel provinces. All empires starts off rigth next to each other, which is nice if you do not like having to take over rebel cities to butt your borders next to anotehr civilization. You'll be fighting on multiple fronts sooner depending on who you are allied and at war with.

Europa Barborum is an unfinshed mod, but its very, very playable. This is set to supercede Rome Total Realism in its scope of accurate text, units, and descriptions from what I know. (Even includes the "gaesetae," the naked Celtic warriors haha). Things cost much more, and buildings take longer to build. To me, it seems to take a while to accomplish much, but that gives the PC controlled civilizations time to do their thing as well I suppose.
