Well here is the update I promised so long ago. Sorry it's been so long in getting here everyone. I finally got my OWN recording of the howling out there in the Liberty/Germantown Ohio area, thanks to the fact that I am living out there for the time being. Had to move from my apartment in Dayton due to circumstances beyond my control, but that's another lurid tale of woe. Anyhow, these things were roughly 1/2 a mile from the house I'm staying in, so they were a bit drowned out on the recording by the dogs that chimed in as they were howling. At one point, it sounds as though there are at least three creatures howling at the same time. This recording is dated 4/28/06. You'll have to turn it up a bit to hear it really well, or wear a headset to listen, even though I amplified it and cleaned it up. I've found several tracks, mostly near creeks in the area, but none worth trying to cast, as they were too shallow to get a viable cast from considering how hard the ground was in the area. Hopefully I'll get some photos now that I dug my digital camera out of my moving stuff, and I'll be able to upload those, and with all the rain we've been getting, I may be able to get some casts too. Hoping to get some Gametraker Cameras to set up and PRAY I get a pic or two of the things. It seems the website isn't allowing me to upload the audio file, so if you would like to hear it, please feel free to email me at jiro9cuts0001@aol.com, and I'll get it to you that way, sorry for the inconvenience.

Have you heard some of the bigfoot recordings? That is, even if they're real. Though to me, they sound nothing like a howl.

a bigfoot howl sounds like a real high pitched scream, and it's really loud.

No that was me after I read her blog. I was in a LOT of pain.

Adam, I'd be interested in hearing the howl you recorded.

How do you know? Just curious.

I've been a hunter since I was 14, so I know what tracks different animals leave, what sounds they make, habits, etc. I also know I've heard and seen things that do not conform to any known indigenous, or previously indigenous (i.e. before europeans came to this part of the U.S., and some are making a comeback, albeit slowly) animals. While I was in southern Ohio (Adams County specifically, my grandfathers farm was about 10 miles from Serpent Mound) staying at my grandfathers place, I heard a horrific squall from where the horses would go to "bed down" for the night. They came running in to the barn terrified. later the next day, I went to brush down the horses, and on the rear end of my horse was a marking that could only have been made by some sort of huge hand, with two gouge like marks into his hide. I know it couldn't have been a bear, unless the bear had a paw and fingers that would be capable of palming a beach ball by their spread, and at a distance of about 1/4 of a mile, a black bear couldn't have been heard that easily, if at all, let alone the fact that a bear can't make the noise I heard!. The squall was deep, but shrill, and it reminded me of what a frightened or pissed off howler monkey sounds like. These are definitely not bigfoot "howls" or calls. They're not coyotes either, as their calls are far more shrill and whining in their tonal qualities than what I have recorded. They have a definite lupine quality to them, but they're still not quite like a wolf howl, it's hard to describe them in words, so I hope the upload takes this time. If it doesn't, feel free to email me at jiro9cuts0001@aol.com

Try uploading it in Putfile and paste a link. The area is not that remote, but you never know.

This is for everyone to get a visual idea of the area.

Forgive me, but I'm a little confused. Are you trying to tell us that your area is
haunted by some kind of werewolf? blink.gif

Dame Edna Everage was a man (Barry Humpfries) who used to dress up as a woman and was really big in the 80's. He was an australian nutter, who use to call everybody "possum".
Now you know.

To get back on topic, can AdaminDayton answer my question? Are you trying
to tell me there is some kind of werewolf or something haunting your area? I only ask because
so far you have only told us about howling noises and strange tracks that could be
anything.
DeadRobot
adding to Robert's question have there been any strange animal deaths in the area where it appears that the animal was killed by something unusual?

He was in the sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was called Shock Treatment. He played a blind guy who wasn't really blind. He was fab and not in drag!

Back to the topic:

What kind of footprints are around where the howling comes from?
