I can't believe someone could ever do this!
But I guess there's been worse, but it's just so messed up.
Im familiar about the haunting there, Im not sure about them, but this could probably start some type of eerie stuff.

Now that George Lutz is dead and Kathy Lutz is dead unless the kids decide to come forward we'll never know the whole truth.

it has recently been noted that butch defeo could have killed his family.a rifle of the same caliber that was used in the killings was found and it belonged to butch?just a theory.

Oh yeah I believe Butch killed them all and did it alone. He is crazier than anyone I've ever seen.

What were the toxicology reports on the victims? Maybe they were drugged and that's why none of them woke up when the gun was going off. Oh wait- did'nt one of the children wake up and look up at Butch who then shot him in the face? I seem to recall reading something about that. My problem is why did'nt any of the neighbors hear the gunshots? Were they used to hearing gunfire at the DeFeo house? Then there is the whole thing about Dawn having gunpowder residue on her clothes as if she had shot a gun. The whole thing is just crazy and that's what fuels the fire for the whole haunting thing.

I saw a program where they surmised that no one moved because they were all so scared of him. They said that even if the children had heard the shots fired that killed their parents, they didn't get out of bed because they had been so threatened by Butch that they had been conditioned by fear. Also, one of the boys was the only one that tried to resist. He had a broken leg and couldn't move but he had thrown the blanket off himself to try and get away. BUT the forensics also surmise that could have been a twitch because his spinal column was severed.
I don't think we'll ever know for sure because he is crazy as a loon.

Amityville is about 2 minutes from my house and everyone around here know SOMEONE who knew the family. Or knew the family directly.
But the whole ghost story, in most of the locals opinion, is not true. I dont believe it either.

Did I miss something?? Butch confessed. He's changed his story several times, now claiming his sister helped him, but he did confess and is serving time for the killings.

Oh yeah me too. He's trying to lay some of the blame off on his dead sister because of the guilt he now feels for killing his defenseless brothers and sister. He is trying to justify it in his own mind so he's convinced himself that it was partially that one sister's fault. He can justify killing his parents to himself and he can justify killing the sister that he's accusing because he didn't get along with her, but he got on well with the other 3 siblings and now he has to face up to his own feelings so he's trying to pawn off some of the guilt onto his dead sister. Pathetic really.

This crime was committed by Ron "Butch" Defeo, so yes it is solved. It happened in Amityville, NY.
