What do you guys think of Dennis Rade (BTK)? I just wonder how he manged to evade being arrested for so long. Didn't he send letters to the plolice asking to be caught?

He wasnt asking to be caught he was making sure he got all the credit. When he committed the first four, they had placed someone in custody which pissed BTK off because he wanted to make damn sure they knew he did it. It was his grandiose and narcissistic behaviors that got him caught. After a book was to be published about the BTK killings, (mind you, the killings had stopped for close to a decade) it was published on the front page of the Witchita paper- that really made him angry. To see someone else gaining anything from his work threw him back to his behaviors and hence wrote the letter from the church computer that he put on disc and sent to a local tv station. He didnt pay enough attention to how much forensics evolved.
The guy is a total dirt bag, unemotional, looked at them like he was hunting deer- Im just happy they finally caught the guy and now he has to rellish about it in his cell instead of out here where he may of caught the bug to start doing it again.

He's a typical sociopath. He has no emotion and only cares for himself. He's a sicko.

He must be wacko if he sent the police and media letters. Easiest way to tack him if he licked the envolpes.

I don't uderstand the point of your one-word-statement.
What are you trying to say?
OlDrippy34
Jun 2 2006, 10:55 PM
It was in response to that "Yes. Yes you are." I don't really know how to explain it. A basketball goes "swish" through the hoop, right? So it means, more or less, "Score" or "Nice." I got it from an episode of 3-South, the context of which can probably sum it up fairly well.
Sanford embarasses Del at a feminist comedy night, so...
Del-This is the last feminist comedy night I invite you to.
Sanford-Oh yeah? Well...maybe this is the last feminist comedy night you invite ME to! Swish!
In this context it just means, essentially, "Nice. Burned."

That's kinda creepy that he would actually do that, I mean sure he didnt want other people taking his credit but he should have quit while he was ahead, even if he did quit maybe we could have taken a look at the case again here in 2006 with all these forensic devices its easy to solve murders...(i wanna be a forensic scientist)

He killed ten people in all and collected items from various other crime scenes. Wikipedia has a great article on him. Here's the link.

A majority of the killings took place in wichita, and he lived in park city, a suburb of wichita, i think two of his killings werent considered BTK killings as they didnt fit to a point as the MO untill later in 04. One of his killings was of a woman who lived roughly 100-200 feet from his house where he was arrested in park city, she was dumped in wichita and i think is one reason they didnt relate her to the btk killings.
If i remember right hes locked up at the El Dorado facility and if so then i can for sure say this dudes locked down good. If hes in wichita well.. i cnat say much for segwick county jails except they arent that..hospitable

What a sick old man. I remember hearing about him in MSN news ( My old home page )
I read "He confessed to murder and played with the parent's emotions", he told the parents how good it felt to have their fresh blood over his hands and how good it was hearing them scream while he cut them.
He talked more and more disgusting things and finally stated that he will be back, and he had not had enough.
Sick Bi***.

I am glad in my 18 1/2 yrs in the Illinois State Police I never came across anyone like him. We never really had serial type killers in my district.
We did have a man murder his girlfriend, she was 48 he was 24 and her daughter was 17. He killed both burned the bodies and what was left he put in a large duffle bag and dropped it in a landfill. Real bright guy,he was caught by my partner in her truck.
He's in jail for life.
