Mentalcase

When I first joined this forum I was very interested in the paranormal, but the longer I stick around the more skeptical I get.
I wander around this forum everyday and have never seen anything
interesting discovered or explained. I can't wait to see something very profound happen. I imagine someday we know the truth about most of the stuff we ponder about. Like UFOs, aliens, ghosts etc.
Wouldn't it be great to figure this stuff out as a forum? We have the international connections with our forum members. We definatly have the resources available to us. Is there anything we can do as a group?
I'm sure most of the stuff we wonder about is explainable with a skeptical approach. But I wonder what we over-look when we look at things so pessimistically?
Not sure where I want this convo to go, I'm on a half of pot of coffee and my mind is blabbering so...I'm going to my guitar.

I just realized how rhetorical most of my last post was. Maybe it will spark some thoughts with you all. This kind of thread has been done before, but with a different approach. Lets just see where this goes, by the end of the day we will know everything about the unexplained.

How's that for optimism?

Well, although i'll admit that it would be nice to find "true" answers with regards to "unexplained mysteries," but for now I'd rather just see everything as just that, an unexplained mystery.Personally, I think its funny how this world can have so many scientists, so many geniuses, so many skeptics, and really just so many people that instead of finding solutions to these mysteries, it seems that we are encountering more of them.
well thats just my 2 cents...

As Pious says, the more unexplained things we look at, and try to answer, the more questions we get.
Yes there are some, well, quite a few actually, unexplained mysteries, that can be explained away fairly simply, but the more that we hear of, the more we get to hear of just those few that are actually truely unexplainable.
In many cases, when we look at things with a skeptical eye, we see things as they really are, but it is not a good idea to be too skeptical with paranormal things, as if you do, it becomes so, every ghost is rats scuttling or a hallucination, and very UFO becomes a fake, some smudge on a window or the lens.
I have found it better to look at things especially ghosts and tales of hauntings, by trying to explain them away, but if they can not be easily explained, then looking at what type of ghost it could be. eg:- repeater, crisis and so on.

I think you have a good idea Mentalcase. It would be incredible if one or more of us were to prove the existence of ghosts, lake monsters, Bigfoot, etc. Maybe some of the members who live near each other could do some "field research" together and report back any photos, findings or expieriences. We may get more results if we work together.
What do ya say Snuffy? Bigfoot Safari? I'll bring the Keystone, you bring the gorilla suit!
I'm joking about the gorilla suit.

Still too many ticks and chiggers out right now! Scientific discoveries have to wait until it gets colder.
I am serious about going though, and anyone that wants to come is welcome.

Hmmm, only one remotely close is Odin. And that would probably end up in an argument about which type of wood the shovel would have to be made of...

Ha Ha, now that made me laugh.
When would be most convienient for you? We don't want to go during deer season (remember the crazy Hillbillies will be a packin' for sure).
There is also an old homeplace we should check out. It's in the middle of the woods, and the house is gone, but the well is still there. Ever see the Ring? The old man that lived there was struck by lightning while standing on his front porch.
Hell, I'm ready. Just don't you touch none of my purdy cousins

Well, when's deer season? Isn't that sometime in November? How about after that? It'll be nice and cold then, and we can visit the old home place chigger-free
How about if I were to trade a fancy fishin' rod for one of your purdy cousins?

If you want to learn the truthabout it all you have to options.
1) Work for the shadow government. They are the ones who keep everything secret and are involved with all the aliens and holding back technology.
2) Get chrynogenically frozen for about 150 years. By then everything should be declassified. It took like 60 years for the government to say area 51 exists and they still won't say what goes on there. As if we were totally clueless.

I believe things will be revealed to us in time. For everyone is atuned to their own rithym. Everyone exists in their own reality. Once we are one with the cosmos, all will be revealed, but will we want to share our knowledge? Will it be possible to reveal it. or will we be beyond caring?
