Russian scientists have invented a battery that can capture energy not only from the sun, but also from the stars, the head of a research center at the Dubna Nuclear Institute near Moscow, said.

“Scientists have successfully created a new substance,” Valentin Samoilov announced, “thanks to which this battery can work on earth, independently of meteorological conditions, using solar and stellar energy.

”This is a battery like no other,“ Samoilov, who heads the Institute’s center for applied research, told the ITAR-TASS news agency, explaining that it could function 24 hours a day and was twice as effective as an ordinary solar panel at converting light into electricity.

Moreover, Samoilov declared, the new battery was cheaper than a solar panel.

hmmmmmmmmmmm mellow.gif i wounder well us americans will find some stupid way to use it im possitive or russia will sell it to some country in hopes to boost its economy

it would be nice if it was used on a car

why not just make a gaint solar panel in space that collects energy and sends it through waves to an are that would be safe such as a desert where very little thing lives.

Without them telling us anything. Anyone could say this is just russian propaganda.

The energy of all the stars in our sky, other than the sun, falling on Earth is nothing compared to the energy we get from the sun. This is nonsense.

i was talking about using the suns power from space so your not wasting alot of are on earth to grab it.

If the technology is real then it will be good for collecting Solar energy, but there's almost no Stellar energy to even collect, I don't see how it would be possible to gain any useful amount of energy from the stars at all.

I'm sorry, Banshee. I was trying to say that the Russian story about collecting energy from stars other than the sun was nonsense, not orbiting solar collectors.
