Following on from Hammy's tales of cursed cars, here's the story of a haunted double-decker bus. The bus in question is the number 321, which now resides in Manchester's Museum of Transport.
The bus began it's service life in 1952, and continued until 1969, when it was bought by a group of Mancunian transport enthusiasts. Whilst renovating the bus, one member of the team was upstairs in the vehicle. He felt a playful tap on the arm, and out the corner of his eye, saw a small boy in a 1950's style sleeveless pullover and shorts.
More sightings followed. Curious about the low mileage and good state of repair of the bus, the enthusiasts did a bit of research. They discovered that even while in service, bus crews had been reluctant to take the bus out, believing it to be haunted. Further investigations revealed that the bus had been involved in an accident in the Greater Manchester suburb of Reddish, during the mid-fifties, in which a small boy was knocked down and killed.
At the museum, where the bus is still to be found today, reports of mysterious occurrences continue. A museum worker's 5 year old daughter was wandering around the exhibition hall, when she came running back in an hysterical state, saying she had seen a boy dressed in grey. On another occasion, a group of psychic researchers visited the museum, by chance, and one was drawn to the bus, saying someone was on board it. An artist resident in Scotland was commissioned to draw the vehicle from photographs. He had never seen the bus, or heard the stories, but felt compelled to draw the face of a small boy in the upstairs front window.
So for anyone wanting to see the bus, pay a visit to the Manchester Transport Museum. For anyone who can't make it, we provide a picture. Look very closely at those windows....
See anything?

Bless you, my little cream bun, but that's because you're half-asleep.
Look, there it is, in the window. Looking over the shoulder of the mothman.

So, is the story true or what?

I think there is a chance that it's true, Agent. That is, I gathered the story from two sources, and it's not a joke on my behalf.
I doubt you'll see anything in the picture, mind you.

But that really is the bus, and as far as I can tell, the reports are genuine.
Of course, if anyone out there
can see anything in the picture, let us know!

I don't see anything Cuffy.... I looked and looked. I am getting new contacts tommorrow...perhaps then I will see something. Hmmm. there are so many people on the bus, I doubt a driver would notice a little kiddie.

An English one would. And what's more, if the kid didn't have the correct fare, he'd kick him off. (A bit difficult with a ghost, I know.)
You noticed the aunt reference then. They are even stranger to understand. Going shopping is 'going for the messages' and she talks about 'Bantys' (chickens, I think) and poond coins. I can't criticize as she's cleverer than me, ex-teacher.

i can even see ghosts outside the bus? i wouldn't call it real. it was probably some people smoking cigars and it somehow got in a shape easily interpreted as ghosts

I don't know if there
is a ghost in the picture. But a painter felt there should be a little boy there, in one of the top windows...spooky.

I can see a grey/white blobby thing, just above the number 9 and to the left a bit, I suppose this could be a refection in the glass?

The round grey bit is a window on the right side of the bus, visible through the front window. The dark bit at the bottom of it is a bus seat.
At least, I
think it is...
