In my country this is normal. You'll find fried chicken heads alongside the roads (except fastfood store) and they're very tasty.
Although I haven't been to Thailand, I have been to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines and I can tell you that there are many food things that at first might gross out some people from America but they actually are quite tasty. I for one just love crispy fried chicken claws. I can even handle the fish heads & eyes, but I don't think I'll ever get used to Balut (Philippines). Google it, too gross to discuss here.
I was in the Philippines for the SEA Games last year, lots of good food from all the South East Asian countries. It's too bad about how the games turned out. The last time I was in Japan (2001) I found out I liked squid stew soup. Who knew.
