OK HERE IS WHY I WONDERED .
THIS IS A FACT THAT A CHIMP WHEN EATING A BANANA HOLDS THE STEM OF THE BANANA LIKE A HANDLE AND PEELS THE BANANA FROM THE PART OF THE FRIUT WITH NO STEM TO HELP HIM ALONG.


This was brought to my attentention along time ago by my father when wathing a documentary on wild chimpansies . i realalized

this is why i respect wildlife animals and other life because humans are definetly a bit differernt from the animal kingdom.

who would of knew ,lol and we try to teach them blocks .lol
just a thought why would they eat the banana like that ,..have you ever seen a chimp eat a banana ,.he practaly sucks it down withose lips right quick and in a hurry.

plus they have all kinds of them on the trees so they have plenty .

and when you think about it why dont we hold it the same way they do ,..it seems logical doesnt it,.. na..its too darn hard to find a point to peel the banana from.

I do it both ways.

I usually bite the top off and peel it down.

I do it the first way, break off the stem and peel down. But I don't peel the whole thing. I'd rather hold on to the peel than the actual banana.

hey! When I just tug on it it squishes the soft meat underneath. So I bite off the top keep the shape intact and firm.... nothing wrong with that.

Edit: I was just wondering about the 4 that eat it like the chimps... never seen it done.

I use my thumb nail to make a cut in the stem, then peel... no 'squishing'

In all honesty that's what I do too. How many UMers does it take to peel a banana???

I also know someone that eats the skin, she eats oranges skin and all too... thinks its healthy...

That is just down right wrong! Doesn't she notice that it's unchewable (if there is such a word) and taste like crud???

I eat kiwi's whole, but thats not as bad as eating orange skin - ew.

I break the stem and peel it that way, but then you really dont know where to look when eating a banana...

I had abosolutey no intention of coming across in a bad way.

I did ponder the thought of why the animal would hold the banana differently than we do
of course we are human and we are different ,it did make my awarness of the effectiveness and intelligent of a animal.

I think if we have to stop and think why were diifferent or do things different than a animal does , like eating a banana it stops our logic and repects natures as well

I simply thought it was very interesting topic. Has anybody else ever saw those differences in the banana analysis. if no. maybe others have been and i urge you to share with the board.
Remeber it has to be something that humans do and an animal that is upright standing and has two arms like we do . chimps are 99% in dna simularities as humans and that is why i thought of why they peeled a banan different.

I hope this cleared things up and all is well and maybe a chimp just isnt a chump sort of speak anymore ha ha
