Its some kind of guitarfish, maybe the shovelnose guitarfish (Rhinobatos productus ) and not a cursed boy of any kind. Plus, it has been posted before.

Correct on both counts! thumbsup.gif

that "human stingray" is a monster known as "The Jenny Haniver". i have absolutely no clue why they call it that, but some rumors tell that some pirates off the coast of Florida found it. not totally sure, but i know the names true
frogfish
It is a kind of shovelnose ray, as pointed out already. Never caught one...

Whether technically allowable or not, they were still spam in my eyes, and I think you'd find that most people's opinion is much the same. For Christ's sake, can't you put more effort into a post than yes.gif? That's why your post count is hardly respectable, compared to those who consistently post entirely useful things, for years, to get such post counts.

Yes, I know this post is offtopic.

Yes, I'm aware that you'll probably report me.

But I don't care. original.gif

Your posts AC:

Good job, you did your homework.

Note that those posts, while admittedly fitting the criteria of my definition of spam, were spaced over several days, not clustered in less than 24 hours.

Yes you post a lot. Sometimes, yes, you make good posts. I'd go so far as to say that our ratio of spam to useful posts is roughly the same.

However, I do not make a point of pretending to be a mod and lecturing people over their posting habits. This is the first time I have done so, in fact, and only because this is a pattern you consistently repeat. Get off your high horse, realize you're a member just like everyone else, and that your post count is worth nothing. K? k.

I'm done. original.gif

When have I ever said post count is a sign of rank? Hmmmm?

I don't rank by post count, or length. I do it by how knowledgeable the person is.

QUOTE

Neither do I...just that a topic needs to be redirected every so once often after a string of:

"Yea"

"that cool"

"yep"

"oh well"

coldethyl
Well I think I've posted a one word post one time and it had a smilie with it, so I wonder does that count?

huh.gif

Anyway...I think human stingray is an oxymoron.

I would agree that the terms "human" and "stingray" either are, or at least should be mutually exclusive.

I agree...the only time they should be in a sentance together is when it has to do with fishing oir stinging.

Or something like "man, look at that ray!"...that'd be close enough.... thumbsup.gif

Jenny Hanivers are just dried rays or skates which have been modified (i.e. extra bits stitched on, other bits cut off), dried, and sold as souvenirs. They are totally 100% FAKE, but very cool.
