after seeing the priveleged planet, i conclude that the odds of life being 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 are a little egocentric. i think that they mean that those are chances for another planet being like earth. i think every planet has its unique features. what really ticks me off is that guillermo gonzalez says we are rare in our galaxy, why couldnt some one ask what about the other 100 billion to 1 trillion galaxies. gonzalez doesnt even mention the possibility of microbial life. there may not be 1000 to a million civilizations in our galaxy, maybe only 5 if were really lucky, but even if we are the only civilization in our galaxy, there is probably really intelligent animal life, plant, and even microbial life. and we still have 100's of billions of galaxies in our universe.

I doubt if there is another planet out there that is replica to the Earth..? But i would like to think that there are planets holding single stranded molecule nucleotides just waiting for impregnation with some deoxyribose catalyse..Imagine some infested space junk with human DNA landing on such an alien planet...how interesting would that be..? Just a thought..?

Listen. This is for all the negative reductionist types. Critical thinking is one thing.
Creative thinking is complementary, in terms of intelligence. Listen and learn.

A week ago, at the Allianz Golf Championship, in Iowa, aliens made their presence known.
This is a little discussed aspect of an amazing, out of this world event. Fuzzy Zoeller sank a hole in one, but it was no ordinary circumstance.

In fact, overhead was an alien mothership. They were momentarily aligned with God and Fuzzy through a quantum mind entanglement. Their enthusiasm caused their mind patterns to set off waves of good vibes. The ball responded with perfect anti-inertial
behavior.

Seems completely reasonable to me.

After all, there is scripture that supports this idea, "May thy ball land upon green pastures, not upon still waters".

Now that is an interesting thought to ponder. [attachmentid=26314]

Could such space junk influence the rise of new life in an alien environment. ? Human DNA kicking of Evolution on a distant petrie dish. Is that what we are doing here? Never considered this angle.

For all the reductionist types, eh?

Hmmm...An alien "mothership' over head.

Why yes, that should be obvious. By god I see it's shadow right there in the gallery!
That's creative thinking, for sure.

A passionate golfer will likely tell you that golf is universal, and he will never even think of
"aliens" as being a part of it.

In this case, the ball plopped gently onto a tuft of grass in the fringe, and eventually overcame the resistance of the tuft, plopping gently onto the sloping green...just at the right angle to roll to the pin, and into the cup. It only seems miraculous. What it was was lucky...as most hole-in-ones are. You've got to hit a great shot to have a chance, but it's alot like bowling at higher levels.

If you bowl a 300 game, there's almost always a lucky carry involved someplace. Bowlers speak of the "bowling gods smiling upon them".

They must be aliens too!

^Which is why I don't do stand-up!^

And begging your pardon, I said negative reductionist types. They are intransigent
sticks-in-the-mud, who dabble in quantitative alchemy, to say we are probably alone in the Universe.

They lack imagination, and have a mental block.

Conversely, I am always making up jokes that seem to miss! That's just as bad!

Naah, it's OK.
It's kinda hard to joke in writing!

well this is not aliens...look how windy it is out there. Things happen in golf every day like this with winds.
