[b]Hello and thanks in advance to anyone who's willing to help me.

OK I'm going to try to make this simple.

I have a E Machine Computer with Windows XP. It's a older computer works fine tho. thumbsup.gif

I want to get a new Dell Lap top. $1500 grin2.gif Only problem is I record music on my E
machine. I rap and make beats and the program I use is Magik Music Maker 10 Its not the best recording program but i am use to it so i love it. I am using it to make my songs and i had to install the music maker with a cd.

But the cd was not mine it was my friends. he took it back. And they do not make Magik music maker cd's no more!! wink2.gif So when i get the new Dell there is no way i can transfer the program from my E machine to my new dell????

I know it sounds weird i am not very good at computers i am ok but i know nothing about stuff like this.

So theres no way to transfer a program from one computer to another???
i cant burn the information on a disk somehow?

iI hope i explaaned this well!! original.gif

SOMEONE please help ASAP!!

It might be possible to transfer it, but you'll need to make sure you copy all the files used by the program, and any Windows registry entries associated with it.

The easiest solution though is just to buy it.

It is still available at a very reasonable price:
Amazon.com
Raptor
You could always try to put the files of the program in to a .zip folder (using WinZip), then email the .zip folder to yourself so you can collect it on the new computer.
Megalomania
I'm getting a new computer, and I need to put programs on the other too.

I'm gunna try just getting them from Program Files.
Should work wink2.gif
Unforgiven
I suppose you couldn't just borrow the cd again...
Theirs always peer-2-peer.

you can copy the Magik Music Maker 10 folder from C:Progam Files to a CD, and then put it in the new 'puters' Program files folder, find the EXE. file and use Send to/Desktop (create shortcut) to make an Icon on the desktop and see if it works... if it has registry settings it will be MUCH more difficult though. you say you don't REALLY understand 'puters', trying to manually set all the registry settings would be formidable task... you may want to do like SaRuMaN said...

Thanks all. I supppose the most reasonable way to do this would be ordering it from amazon.com I could not find this at any other sites. Wal-mart and best buy had it a while back. But I called the local stores and no longer had it.

I'll take the info you all posted see if I can't get it somehow to the new comp
thanks all.

And Unforgiven I would borrow it again if my friend did not take it back and lose it thumbsup.gif that would have been my first option.
