Hello UM -
My name is Matt I been a member for over a year now and a freqent reader of UM. You might have crossed paths with me here and there with some of my input. Anyway, as of late I decided to start my own Paranormal Group on Long Island NY and since starting it things are really taking off. We have our first investigation in Mt. Sinai ( Long Island, NY )
On Shadowlands official website I came across an interesting story about Satan's Trail. It was a story that dated all the way back to the Revolutionary War. It was rumored there was 3 abandoned houses left standing since the 1700's in the back of the woods behind a Church and Cemetery that was called Cedar Hill Cemetery. As part of being an investigator and researcher I went and made a plan to journey over there and find the place. The rumors were that these 3 abandoned houses were haunted by 3 seperate ghosts. Because of the historical area, it could hold water. I was determinded to find it.
Ironically I did find it, and the irony of it was I found Satan's Trail on the date of 6/06/2006.
Fate or coincidence?
I had my 11 year old nephew with me that day as an eye witness, and he also enjoys going with me on my ghost hunts. I was excited that I actually found the place from the start. I been searching for it for like 2 weeks. The directons on Shadowlands are wrong by the way. Me and my nephew traveled into the woods to search for these so called abandoned houses. We looked for them at least for like an hour in a half. My nephew was getting tired and hungry, and I was about to give up hope finding these houses myself. We we're so far into the woods. I decided before it got dark lets head back to the car and I will try and write down the correct address of this place and try and get a phone number so I can call to possibly get more information on what happened to these houses or where they are.
I went to the front parking lot and saw a sign in front of the church. The only thing written on the sign was the date of the church when it was built and the name. It was dated 1789, so this place is nearly 300 years old.
I was impressed, and knew I was at the right place. Then suddenly a care taker came walking out from the front door of this what looked like to be an abandoned church and I was shocked someone came walking out the front door. This church looked abandoned and closed up. I will not reveal this person's identiy due to her own privacy or exact location. As I came across this woman, I properly introduced myself and why I was there. Once I was done telling her I was there looking for Satan's Trail and those houses, she immediately knew right away what I was speaking of. I was so estacic she knew about it because then I could get some background on it.
I got a ton of information, so much I had to break out a pen and pad of paper and writing this stuff down. So folks, as it stands I indeed found SATAN'S TRAIL. No one, except those with the story has ever found it. Anyway, I learned from the woman that the local Mt. Sinai Fire Department burned these houses down for a fire drill. I thought to myself those idiots have no respect for history. I was disappointed to hear that but still excited I found Satan's Trail. As our conversation wen't along, she actually told me she believes this 1789 church itself to hold Paranormal activity.
I been in contact with this woman, who was nice enough to give me her number and conclude our conversation about the premises. She has given us full permission to do a Paranormal Investigation inside the 1789 church. Again, sorry but until the investigation is over I will not reveal any names or an exact location. I promised the person I wouldn't as part of my professionalism.
With all this being told, I'm proud to do an investigation inside such a historical church that dates back to the Revolutionary War and could hold water of a Paranormal Haunting.
I will keep you all informed on our progress, and reveal photos on our website once we are set.
I just wanted to share my story, and progress of finding Satan's Trail...
Feel free to comment...
Thanks
Matt ~
