What kind of scary do you mean? The Ouija one that Anvil posted is a good one, there's also another one that I can't remember the title of, someone help me. In it there was the story of a ghost that had been killed by a tractor and was burnt and legless......

I was going to post a link to a certain person on this site who claims to be possessed(take a wild guess) but the only reason I beleive this person to be scary is beacuse this person could probably still purchase a handgun.....scary...to me at least.....but I will take the high-road and not post a link....I'll just cleverly insinuate it......... . Not everybody has the same idea of what is scary, some find ghost stories to be scary, but what if you don't believe in ghosts?

Gotta admit, that does sound creepy, but the thought of something running on it's hands could also be funny.....especially to a person with the of sense of humor that I have. I'm not afraid of the dark.....IT'S WHAT'S IN THE DARK THAT CONCERNS ME!!!....but if the only thing that's in the dark is half-a-blackened-ghostie running on it's hands......that don't measure-up(pardon the pun).

For some reason that image just creeped me out. I think because we used to have a house with a porch that ran down the entire front of the house. I imagined that 'thing' crawling around the porch looking in the windows.....

Hahahaha......I'm sorry....hahaha....I'm in NO WAY trying to belittle your image...but all I could imagine is that "thing" trying to see through the windows and falling-off whatever it's standing on and cursing....or looking for something to boost itself up and not being able to move it with it's mouth..... ......or trying to stand on one hand and "hop" up and down to see in the house...hahaha*wipes away tears*........kinda like a scene out of the "scary movie" series.....that's just the way I look at things like that.

Well it scared me! When you put it like that it does take away some of the malice....But the windows weren't high, they were right there on the porch so you could be dragging yourself and look in....I'm creeping myself again.....

Oh c'mon...lol....your not utilizing the full capability of your imagination!!!! Imagine that thing falling down those steps...cursing all the way.....&^$%$$@@@##@$#!@$!!!!!!!!!! Then when it hits the bottom of the stairs, it loks back up again and says: "Damn it!!! it took me ALL NIGHT to get up those stairs!!!!"

I suppose. Still I find things that have to drag themselves around a bit creepy. Can't help it. I guess I'm just a scaredy cat when it comes to that. And the fact that I imagine it skinless and red and sticky....

I'm not sure if any of them are actually really scary. I find most of them interesting
and sometimes very amusing. My advice to you would be keep reading and enjoy.

Well, I read the ouija board thread and it didn't do much for me. A few interesting stories, but a lot of the same warnings or scepticism. I will read some other suggestions.

So far the story, allegedly made up, of the Ted's cave is the scariest.

I rather enjoyed that story also, even though I diddn't really find it "scary" per say, it was a good story.....even though it not having an ending kinda torqued-me-off a bit.

For some reason that just didn't scare me and I am a scaredy cat! Could be because its hot and sunny at the moment... will wait to later on tonight and give it a go again . ..... Or maybe not!

I reckon the scareiest threads on this forum have been anything to do with Dolls *Shivers* I hate those kind of stories....

Yeah possessed dolls are good ones too. Especially if the doll is creepy looking. Or possessed paintings, those are good ones....

Just goes to prove that the idea of what is or is not scary is purely subjective and open to interpretation........................but I diddn't find that story very scary either.

That is a VERY good question.......hmmmmmm.....don't really know if there is a story that is posted on this site that might scare me(mainly beacuse I haven't read every story posted on this site)...but the stories on demonic possession and the diabolical can be pretty unnerving to me...but then again....who diddn't the movie The Exorcist scare?

The Exorcist scared the daylights out of me! And then I read The Entity and that scared me too. Of course this was when I was about 12 but they both left lasting scars!! I think I am most frightened by possession stories too. I love 'em, but they're scary!!

Honestly, nothing in this section has scared me...

but there is one in off topic, that at times, is truly frightening...

the one thread that scared me was that made up story about the cavers and the hole they found with the noises coming out of it. It was truely creepy and i was reading it at night guess that didnt help.

That story was kind of creepy but not really scary. It's more in the nature of a fun
urban legend. It's still a fun read though.

The scariest topic on this forum would be the only topic on this forum that was able to keep me awake at night, sleep paralysis. Basically what it was, you would kind of half wake up from sleeping to find an old lady sitting on top of you. It would only be an illusion of course, but still very scary

I think sleep paralysis would be scary if it happened to you, but reading about it isn't.

Oh, and I didn't find The Exorcist or Exorcist The Beginning scary, Event Horizon, on the other hand gave me nightmares.
Doesn't bother me now tho.

LOL! I am now freaked out by that story too. As you can see in my quote I said it hadn't bothered me. However..... last night as I was lying in bed I suddenly rmembered the story and worked myself into a frenzy thinking it was dragging itself into my bedroom. SO I slept with the side light on and made sure my feet weren't sticking out the bottom of the bed.

that's kind of addicting.

I will agree that the rogues gallery is addictive.
