Mr. Fahrenheit
So, a couple of hours ago, I was playing Resident Evil 4 and my Gamecube just shuts off. The power didn't go out because the TV, fan, and other things in the room stayed on. When I try to turn it back on, the LED in the front stays on for a second, then turns off. The gamecube still makes the sounds it made when starting up before (even after the light is off)
On the Nintendo website, It says it needs repair (50 bucks + shipping). I was wondering if anyone here knows how to repair it. Thanks! thumbsup.gif

I was playing Resident Evil 4 a few hours ago, too. For the first time in months. Weird. tongue.gif

Do you have any idea what the problem could be? It sounds like it's something to do with the power supply, like maybe it died, but I don't know for sure.

I have no idea. On the Nintendo support site, it says

Power Light Flashes

If the power light flashes once when power button is pressed, then turns off and won't turn back on, the system needs repair.

So, it seems like they don't want to tell me so that I dont' figure it out myself tongue.gif
I hope someone can help! Some people don't appreciate it, but I love my Gamecube!

^lol. You could always try taking it to a 2nd hand gaming store, they usually do cheap repairs. Or even if you have a warranty you should be able to get it repaired for free. In the UK all electronics come with a free 1 year warranty, whether you're offered one or not, there might be something similar in the US.

Mr. Fahrenheit
That would work if I hadn't bought it when it came out...about 6 years ago laugh.gif
I'm sure it wouldn't cost near 50 bucks to fix it somewhere else, so if nobody knows how to fix it, I guess that's what I'll try.
GreyWeather
have you tried shouting at it?

but shouting at it really really loud?

I don't know anything about your little game consoles but I knew I had to help a fellow UMer so here. The first question is exactly what you need I believe.

That did it!
It turned out it was my nice Spice Orange controller (which was made by Nintendo, but I got it secondhand), which is a bit of a loss but I have other controllers. Very useful site, thanks!
