Four Spider-Man 3 Villains!
Source: websguy June 1, 2006

Former Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad may have let a big one out of the bag when talking to IFMagazine.com. He says there are four villains in Spider-Man 3!

iF: There are four villains this time, Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin and when is the fourth going to be revealed?

ARAD: Right we have four villains. Pretty soon [we'll reveal the fourth villain] I believe. Maybe around Comic Con we'll reveal something and the madness will begin.
Spiderman 3

The full interview is available at the link above. The third installment hits theaters on May 4, 2007. Stay tuned to Superhero Hype! for continued reports from the New York City sets.

Before I got to watch spiderman, I thought it was going to be stupid, but it turned out alright. Though I thought the villians were pretty crappy.
SecondHeartbeat
in the first one, green goblin looked like crap,in the second one,dr.octopus didn't look to bad,i like the movies, can't wait till the third one comes out.has anyone seen X-Men 3 yet?i haven't watched it yet
exeller
I saw it, but the ending really bothered me. You should see it and tell me if you agree. I would give X3 8/10 stars.
Tillghast
The fourth one is Electro.
Talon
There is a X-men 3 thread, tons of people have seen it
SAMURAI-X
I hope it's carnage(figure's crossed) that would be too much for spidey to handle though.
coldethyl
I wonder what kind of cameo Bruce Campbell will have in this one? happy.gif
SecondHeartbeat
i was hoping for the lizard, could be carnage, electro would be sweet too, rhino,i dunno, too stupid, same with shocker,he'd be sweet too,to many villains that i'd like to see in one movie!!

BurnSide
Ya, saw it earlier. Pretty freaking sweet is all.
Boff
Wow looked awsome.

Anyone count the villians or find out who they are?

All I can see is the green goblin/hob goblin..I think.

I cant remember about the black spiderman and how it happens and stuff from the old show (but it was always my favourite action figure!!!) so im not sure about that.

Does that mean Venom?
BurnSide
Yes, Topher Grace is playing Venom.
TheCrow
Well, Topher Grace is playing Eddie Broke. There isn't really any solid proof that we will see a full on Venom in SM3, although I expect we will see him become Venom as a cliff hanger.

The teaser imo is pretty awesome. Bryce Dallas Howard looks pretty spot on as Gwen Stacey. Sandman looks greatmuch better than The Mummy and the symbiote is in there too, though it remains to be seen if it is an alien symbiote or some sort of experiment gone wrong.

I think the black spidey costume looks good and the Venom logo is good although I think it would have looked better had they not included the wed design on it and it was just a black costume. I think that rather than the symbiote bond to Peter as such, it becomes/bonds to his costume hence why we can see him ripping it off.

I have even warmed to Topher playing Eddie Brock. At first I didn't think he was right at all and really he isn't. He is nothing like what the 616 Eddie is like. Eddie is an intimidating body builder type with a temper who looses it. Topher is more like the Ultimate Eddie who was a more leaner college student. But I can see why they chose Topher, as somewhat of a mirror image of Tobey and I also think that despite not been like Eddie should be and he won't quite come off as imtimidating I do think he will be ok. I think he could surprise people with this and people will just end up hating him for the sake of it.

The only qualm I have is the Green Goblin 2 costume with the half mask. They needn't have gone with a full Goblin costume like in SM1 but they could have come up with something better.. maybe included a hooded cloak. And the Goblin Glider looks more like a snowboard.

But it does look good. I think this one is gonna be a bit more 'darker'.. I think Raimi will be more in his element (Evil Dead, Darkman) with the kinda darkness of the storyline. And I love the scene of the black spidey jumping off the building and coming down on top of the camera.. very spider like and different to how he normally is in his red and blue suit.
Cadetak
Also sopposedly the director said their is going to be a fourth villian. Rumors say that it is Man-Wolf while others say that Spider-man is actually the fourth villian. I personally hope its The Ringer.

I think more information is going to be revealed at Comic Con
BurnSide
Sandman, Green Goblin, Mummy and Venom.

It's been rumoured for awhile that the end fight will be in a construction site, with Goblin teaming with Spiderman and Venom turning up right at the end to move the franchise towards the next movie. That's what i expect.
woody82
Well Venom, Sandman and Green Goblin sounds like a good mix esp looking forward to Venom and Spiderman show down.
BurnSide
This is interesting.

Eddie Brock.

Green Goblin 2.
Notice the hair and things? Could Brock be the GG2?

Harry gets hit with a Pumpkin bomb. If he is GG2, why would he get hit with a Pumpkin bomb?

Unless it's a dream sequence or something.
Cadetak
Mummy?
Cadetak
Oh and btw Harry is the Green Goblin 2, its basically confirmed.

As for him getting hit with the pumkin bomb...it could be a dream sequence or someone else could have just thrown it.

::Spoilers::

Its also been said that Harry will die in this movie, its not confirmed but its close enough. Rumors say he will die saving Spidey in a final battle.

BurnSide
Hence the foreshadowing dream sequence? original.gif
The Green Goblin will eventually be the death of Harry...
SecondHeartbeat
so,green goblin, sandman, venom, and if the fourth one is himself i'll go crazy,i was hoping it'd be like, rhino or the lizard, carage would be pretty sweet to,but hes too damn crazy
Cadetak
I don't think it's likely that we will see a true fourth villian. There wouldn't be enough screne time to justify the characters. Note that the fourth villian doesn't neccesarily have to be a super-villian. The villian could be Eddie Brock(if you consider Eddie and Venom to be seperate entities). If you think about it if you ask someone how many villians where in Batman Returns they will say "2, Catwoman and Penquin", but nobody will remember right away that Christopher Walken was a villian too.
SecondHeartbeat
true,it probably is just himself, godamnit, that angers me

Some news of the new fantastic four movie coming out

Who is playing The Silver Surfer?
Posted by Clint Morris on July 4, 2006

One rumour that has been making its way around the Internet in recent weeks is this one about Vin Diesel possibly playing The Silver Surfer in “The Fantastic Four 2”. I’m sure you’ve all heard it. And the rumour mill went [further] into overdrive last week, when it was announced that Diesel had left his new film “Black Water Transit” – for undisclosed reasons.

That rumour? Not true. It is on the fast track to the recycle bin. Wham. Bam. Boom. No xXx fighting alongside the troops in blue, I’m sorry to say. Whatever reason Diesel left “Transit”, has nothing to do with “FF2”.

The film’s director, Tim Story, told me this morning that although The Silver Surfer is indeed in the movie, it won’t be Vin Diesel playing him.

“No truth to it”, Story said, when asked about the Diesel rumours. “The Surfer will be a new CGI design being developed especially for the movie. It's going to be incredible”.

The Silver Surfer is a galaxy-cruising defender endowed with superhuman strength, who is able to control and direct cosmic energies, with enough force to destroy a city.

Initially, he was going to front his own picture (and probably will, sometime in the future), but the studio have decided to team him up with “The Fantastic Four” for his first movie out of the gate.

I thought they had agreed this was the last Spiderman for a long time. Specificlly, I thought Tobie had signed on to this one as his last he wanted to do.

some info on the new hulk movie,i like how this thread is slowly turning into a different topic grin2.gif

Sequel

There have been talks of a sequel, which would expand the character of Hulk and most likely be more action driven than a philosophical drama. In a January 2006 interview, Bana stated that "nobody's talking about any sequel" to the film. However, Ain't It Cool News spoke with Avi Arad on January 18, 2006 and announced that Marvel is moving forward with a sequel and that Marvel Enterprises will produce the film while Universal Studios will distribute it. This deal is outside of the Paramount distribution deal that Marvel finalized with Paramount Pictures late last year. Arad announced that he is talking to various writers that he is interested in having work on the film. Arad also stated that he felt that the Hulk was too big in the first and that he will be smaller for the sequel. At this point, there is no recasting in place or planned. Avi Arad also debunked a few rumors circulating about the film: the film will not star David Duchovny in a straight-to-DVD release. Arad recently (April 26th) stated that the villain in the upcoming Hulk 2 will be the Abomination with the title "The Incredible Hulk".

On June 9th Arad told iF Magazine regarding the Hulk sequel. "It’s a “do-over”. I loved the Hulk movie, it was just a different approach, and it wasn’t exactly the comic. We want to be much closer to the comic. It’s what we would rather do."

Curse? That link talks about superman. This is a spiderman thread.

edit- In regards to that Hulk sequel post -
That really isn't a sequel, since it's, as Arad put it, a "do-over." Then Eric Bana would be correct in saying there is no talks of a sequel.

I agree!

Venom and Carnage are the best spidey villans.
Cadetak
Carnage would have to be in a sequel though, you gotta introduce venom before carnage. Also, rumors at that the symbiote doesnt die in the movie but its possible that brock might.

Varoius rumors have the fourth villian being Mysterio played by Bruce Campbell. Its more like a fanboy's dream then an actual rumor though.

mysterio sucks

Besides that it shouldn't be being made, and is only pushing back the production/release of a new Batman?

I want to see an unknown play WW because Lynda Carter was an unknown and I don't see any actress come anywhere near Lynda Carter. It would have to be a young, unknown actress to make it a good movie for me! thumbsup.gif

true,if it was a well known actress then she would have high expectations and if she didn't full fill those expectations then the movie would bomb

A final spin for 'Spider-Man'?

SAN DIEGO — Is Spider-Man making his final swing through theaters?

As the superhero franchise, which has taken in more than $1.6 billion worldwide, returns to Comic-Con to promote next year's Spider-Man 3, some are wondering whether the series is making its final bow.

Including star Tobey Maguire.

"We've done an amazing job at keeping things fresh," Maguire tells USA TODAY. But, he adds, "it's hard to imagine continuously coming up with stories that deserve to be told. I'm not sure if there are more stories for this character that are interesting enough to be excited about doing more."

Sony Pictures, the distributor for the films, isn't saying either way. And superhero franchises, such as the Hulk, have been pronounced dead, only to resurface under a new director or production company.

But Spider-Man producers concede they haven't looked beyond this installment of the series, which they always viewed as a trilogy.

"We don't have a book we're adapting, like a Lord of the Rings," says Spider-Man producer Laura Ziskin. "It's open-ended. But this could be the last. We've never started on the next movie while we were working on the current one."

More than a dozen big-studio movies will be featured at the nation's largest comic-book convention this weekend, but none come shouldering more excitement or expectations than Spider-Man. It's due in theaters May 4.

Producers — and perhaps, they say, a star from the movie — will unveil some hastily gathered footage from the film Saturday as a goodwill gesture to the convention, which has been a taproot of the franchise's loyal following.

"This is a going-home kind of thing," producer Avi Arad says. "We brought the first one here and the fans have supported us and (director) Sam Raimi from the start. We wanted to say thank you."

Filmmakers are closely guarding plot points to the film, though it will feature a new villain, Sandman, played by Thomas Haden Church.

And Ziskin promises one foe will be Spidey himself.

"He'll have to battle villains within," she says. "I love what we've done with this character."

So does Maguire.

"This one, to me, has more interesting twists and turns" than the first two, he says. "It's been a fun ride."

Venom is a Marvel Comics supervillain and anti-hero, an enemy of Spider-Man. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #298 (March 1988). He is a result of symbiosis with an alien life form and a human. The human that has been associated with the symbiote the longest is Eddie Brock, a reporter who was angered that Spider-Man proved one of his stories wrong, ruining his career. Discovering the abandoned symbiote, the two merged into one of Spider-Man's most popular enemies. source
