Let me state some facts right up front.
First off, my house was the town hospital for many years, and I know that at least 50 (maybe more) people have died here. I've had people at school get freaked out when I tell them where I live, and they tell me that the house is seriously haunted. I've never really thought ghosts were real, but I've always felt that there was something really weird about this house.

Now that that's out of the way... I'm severely freaked out.
Around 30 minutes ago I was taking a shower, when I got this insanely weird feeling. I've gotten a feeling like that maybe 2 other times in my life, and once was a few hours before I was hit and nearly killed by an SUV. So, yeah, I take feelings like that pretty seriously. I also had a feeling that someone was watching me, but everyone else in my house is sleeping, so they couldn't be watching me. A few seconds later, the lights in the bathroom shut off and the drain unplugged itself. Also, my towel is missing, when I clearly saw it hanging on the towel rack while taking the shower. No one entered the bathroom.

This has happened once before, minus the weird feeling and the towel disappearing. Also, on several occassions, the light has shut off while I'm in the bathroom. We've left the light on for ages before, and it's never shut off. It's never done it while anyone else is in there, only me... and it's not like I spend most of my day in the bathroom, so it seems to be a really weird coincidence that it'd only happen to me.

I'm really not sure what to make of it, as I'm rather skeptical of supernatural behavior. I've just been passing the drain and the lights off on bad wiring (even though we've looked at it 1000 times and nothing seems wrong) or the house settling and causing the drain lever to trigger.. or other weird stuff like that. But, um, both at the same time? I'm starting to wonder if something is up.

Just thought I'd get some opinions on this. Lets just pretend there are such things as ghosts.. Is there anything I can do to... calm it? Is it a special kind of ghost or something? ... or am I just being paranoid over what's probably nothing?

The towel vanishing does seem a bit of a mystery, the lights going off when showering might be due to the excess moisture in the air as I've had this happen to me on several occasions myself (are you using power saving bulbs or normal filament bulbs?).

Did you manage to recover your towel? If so where was it found and had you placed it there at all before going for shower (Being a technician with sods law on my back 24/7 I place screwdrivers down next to me and If I leave it for the qualifying 10 seconds ive lost the damned thing )

Having known that its a hostpital and unfortunatley with life sometimes hostpitals cannot help (asides comfort upon the end), so patients pass on. Therefore if there are strange situations going on it could be that you have some supernatural activity going on there in your home.



Things to do to prevent it:

1. Check your extractor fan is indeed venting the moisture from the shower room, also check that the wiring is sound by getting an electrician in to check and give you the ok. (If this changes nothing then...)

2. Get a priest or any symbolic person from a positive religion to try and calm/rid of what appears to be there, might sound silly but it won't hurt to try this.

3. Before going for a shower try and have the towel clamped down by something whether by a weight or a peg/clasp of some sort just for piece of mind and so that you definitley know where it is even if the lights do thier intermittant thing.

Well the lights could have been down to electrical faults. Have you ever had a fugue state?

Though it may be too soon yet to attribute the activity in your home to spirit activity.......I have to tell you that very similar things happen in my home on a daily basis. We, without doubt have a resident spirit in our home. All 4 of us who live here have had numerous experiences, and 2 of us have actually seen this spirit manifest itself. The difference in our home is that none of us feel any fear or feel threatened in any way, so consider our guest to be mischievous, but harmless. This spirit guest has been active for over a year and a half now, with the most amount of activity taking place over the past 6 months or so. I have a thread here about it somewhere on which I had been keeping regular updates, but in recent months the activity has been so great that I gave up on reporting everything that happens. (In recent months we have also begun to suspect that we may have 2 guests, though we are not certain of that yet)

I hope you will be able to update us should anything further take place in your house.

I personally think you're allowing the reputation of the house get the better of your
imagination. I could be wrong, but I think it's to soon to attribute these incidents
to spirit activity. I think you simply forgot where you put the towel and the lighting
problem is probably just a minor electrical fault. But I could be wrong. Please feel
free to tell us about any more incidents should they occur.
