Yes, this thread has been done alot. But it is always fun!! I say KISS!!

I'd say Metallica or Motorhead. I just love metal. Thrash especially. No way man, metal owns rock. It owns rap too. KISS or 50 cent can't even come close to lemmy and his thundering voice.

Metal and Rock are often used interchangably

There are so many bands that I love, so I don't have one favorite. But, if we're going by longevity, then I'd have to say Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Metallica.

For me it's a tie between Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax... between the 3 of them they gouged the niche and laid the groundwork for the diversity that came from it...

But Motorhead, Black Sabbath, and Death come close...

Aerosmith and Van Halen have an amazing body of work too...

Add in Sepultura and pretty much most of everyone I've heard since have elements of some of those bands.

To many perspectives, to hard to compile just one in total thought.

I love Ronnie James Dio! I saw him last October even for the age of him he is fantastic! I even called my car Ronnie James Clio after him
