I have heard lots of stories ghost stories in particular in this hotel. Since I live in Coral Gables I know certain info about it. I know this important Mafia guy died in that hotel by a heart attack. Many people report hearing his talk in the night and obsceneties at the person in his room, and sometimes the whole floor. BUt the mafia guy is not the only haunting I have a story to tell:
This lady went to the Biltmore hotel for one night and went to sleep. She heard screaming of a little boy and she went outside the balcony and saw the boy drowning. She jumped off the balcony to save him, but then the figure disappeared and she screamed and her head landed in the ledge of the pool. There was one witness an old man saw water moving in the pool, but did not see the boy so he saw the lady scream at the boy to save him, and tried t stop her, but it was too late.
There are many more stories like this one:
[My aunt was in an elevator, and all of the sudden it stopped, then she heard poundings on the elevator door and screamings to get out. Then she swore she heard a gun shot and then the elevator worked again and she never went to the 7th floor again..
So yea there are many freaky stories we have photographic evidence now adays to prove Ghosts are real they are unfinished business, that wont go in the other side.color=Green][/color]

Hi
I dont understand this bit.........did the lady die by hitting her head on the side of the pool? If so, how could anyone possibly know that she 'heard' and 'saw' a boy drowning in the pool?
Just a thought........

Hmmmmm good point Hams,
I'm sure I've heard about this hotel somewhere before. I have a funny feeling it was on "Scariest places on Earth" in which case I'd have turned it off as soon as Zelda Rubensteins voice got too much for me lol.
I'll have a lookie about later and see if I can dig up any more info about it.
nice find potty, gold star for you

Interesting point there hammy *ponders*
It does say that there was a man passing who saw movement in the pool (but no boy). The boy might have been added later for some reason?

well as promised I did a little noseying around and found this story from a woman who stayed at the hotel
"I arrived about 1:30 PM to stay and work at the Hotel for a photo shoot. I was unpacking the clothes and prepping. I started to get tired and not feeling well. The stylist arrive about 4:30 PM. I mentioned I needed to get air and let's leave to scout for locations. I am fine as soon I was outdoors. That evening I got back to my room, again I was getting ready. I need lie down and take a nap, I shut the far window at the end of room and open the window by the top by head. I woke up after a few hors and I found the window shut. I open to see if there were any strong winds. Everything seemed calm. That night I went to bed and woke up with a gold light shining from the corner of ceiling and unable to move. I kept saying to my self I have to wake this a dream. I saw a slender figure stooping over my legs on the edge of the bed. I slept in a trance like state the rest of the evening with the clock number floating and strange feelings.
The morning I woke, I called my husband and left a message on my machine about the weird dream. That evening I spoke to my husband and he ask me about my dream. I have to play something for you. He played my tape message back. I started to tell him and then sob uncontrollably and then there was silence, and man's voice said "goodbye".
I did learn that The Biltmore has ghosts, they said never on the main floors. Second night, I was woken by clanging noise and wailing. I did leave my draperies open to get light in the room. I ask more questions the next day, I was told during WWII the hotel was Veteran's Hospital. The slender figure was a young man in hospital gown. He did not come to me any other time."

the hotel is in Coral Gables, FL. I too live there. Some friends of mine sneaked in and luckily there was a wedding at the time and we just explored the hotel. It is beautiful and creepy. It has a lot of old furniture. And, I don't recall a 13th floor. I did not see anything weird. However, when we went up some secret stairs, we saw in "beware" carved in the walls. We all ran the hell out of there.
I wont go back there any time soon.

Ok well to that story about the boy in the pool, or some lady jumping off the balcony to save him is total. BULLSHIT! I personally work @ The Biltmore In C.G. and I have NEVER EVER HEARD of that story, but dont get me worng, this place is haunted. I have so many stories. I started working here about 4 months ago maybe a lil. more. Ive spoken to different people and many of them have different stories. I'll personally tell u the 1 that FREAKED the sh** OUT OF ME!!!...
Ok, Im part of the security staff of the Hotel. So this means we walk EVERYWHERE in the Hotel. Ive been to ALL the places in the Entire hotel, and there are some places where you get more chills, than others. Alot of the times it feels likr there is some1 walking behind u, and u always seem to look back. Ok so let me get to the point of my story. I was working the graveyard shift one night. And I had to go unsecure the SPA for the night cleaners. So, I went up there and I opened up the doors and the office's up there. (mind you the 7th floor, was the operating rooms, back when this was a hospital) So I was leaving through the serv. elevator and I locked the lock, back on the small ring where we leave it, and I left everything unlocked. Time passed by, and like @ 4am- 4:30am I get the call on the walkie-talkie to go and secure the SPA that the night cleaners were done. So i go to the office I pick up the set of keys for the SPA and I take the serv. elevator up. i get to the 7th floor, and the elevator opens, and from where im standing, I can perfectly see the lock I left hung on the little ring. So the elevator opens and I look, and the lock isnt there. So I thought to myself "dam thats weird," but since it was so late in the morning I was prob. seeing sh**, cuz I was tired, but I WASNT tired, I had slept ALL day, b/c I knew I was gonna be working the graveyard shift. So I approach the ring where the lock was "suppose" to be, to get a better look. And I got like 2 steps from it and I DOUBLE checked. I SWEAR TO GOD, THE LOCK WASNT THERE!!! So the 1st thing that came to my mind was, dam the night cleaners took the lock, so i look towards my right, and i was gonna radio, down to the office 2 say that the lock was missing, but then it popped into my head, that we "security" are the only people who have the key to that lock, so I look to my left and I look @ the ring, and the lock was hung right there!!!! I saw that sh** hanging and I was like " WHAT THE f***!?!?" goosebumps were running through my body and some cold ass chills, I turned around and started calling that elevator. I took one last look. and I said to myself, "I know what i saw, and that lock wasnt there." I went down to the office and i told my other friend the story, he just laughed and I sent him to go lock up the SPA. I have other stories, if any1 else wants to know, just e-mail me vewsone@yahoo.com

It took two years for a reply?!? That's crazy. But yeah, how can you know what the lady jumped for if she hit her head on the side of the pool and died? I don't understand that. We need more info on it for it to even sound interesting!
