Personally I have only experienced one possibly paranormal event thus far.
Back in the early 1990's I worked in an old building in Warrington, England. This building was formerly a 'House of the Manor', About 150 years old. The building for may years had been renowned as haunted before our company bought the building. Rumour had it that every company that had moved there had gone bust within twelve months. My boss was not one to believe in such things so we bought the building for a very cheap price, as no-one else wanted it.
Nothing happened at all for six months, however a local painterregularly described how, in his childhood the legend was told that anyone who went into the grounds would never be seen again. Around 100 years previously a man had murdered his wife in the building, and her ghost was regularly at large.
The first problem came when a cleaner suddenly fled from the building and vowed never to return. She never would let on why.
The second one was when I was locking up in the evening one winter's evening. There was no-one in the building but I, and so I had to set the alarm off on my way out. To set the alarm all the internal doors had to be shut. Upstairs were four rooms, two of which were never used, and were always kept shut. I shut the other two, went downstairs, set the alarm, and headed towards the bus stop. Just as I was leaving the grounds I heard the alarm gooff. Thinking I had left one of the doors open I quickly went upstairs to sort it out, only to unbelievably see all four of the doors wide open to such an extent that they had left an indentation on the wallpaper. It couldn't have been the wind, because the doors had lever handles on them, and as I said, two of those doors were never opened at all. I quickly shut them all again, ran down them stairs, set the alarm again, and prayed to buggery. Luckily everything was OK.
I wasn't looking forward to going in the building again after that, yet strangely, even though I was the only one based upstairs I always felt very calm after that night, as if nothing had happened.
As a footnote, three months later the company went into decline and I was made redundant.
I've always thought of ghosts as apparitions, a mere 'recording' on time, but this I could not explain. Spirits? Or maybe some kind of activity from my own mind? I guess I will never know.

Interesting story. Would give me the creeps for sure. I'll leave it to our ghost experts to form an opinion on this one...

Yup! thats creepy alright.

If that was me I would of ran like buggery too!!!
I don't really have an explanation on this apart from you said it was in the winter I wonder if it was particulary windy that night as sometimes in old buildings there alot of gaps around window seals and large gaps under doorways ect which cause drafts to whip through a building. when a main door to the outside is shut sometimes a build up of cold air will rush through the house causing doors that are not shut properly to burst open. I not saying this is the cause but a posibility. I'v had a similar experience in an old cottage I used to share with friends, sometimes I would go out and I'd swear I'd shut the windows and doors but when I got in they were all open!!! I didn't stay in the house for long
Prehaps there are particular kinds of ghosts that like fresh air!

Hammy could probly give you a better answer.

Yes! DespondentDave was given to me a few years back cos I am a Manchester City supporter and we were crap at the time and I moaned like hell about it

. It kind of stuck as a pen name after that!!
Anyway in answer to your question it couldn't have been due to a breeze as the doors had a leverhandle that clicked the doors shut, similar to a front door I suppose. To open them you'd have to push the handles down, and push the door at the same time. I could have doubted myself over the ten year period that has followed, but the fact that two of those doors were never opened takes that element of doubt away.
Ooh. I've gone all goose pimply now!

Did the company eventually go bust or is it still in existance?

They had to merge with another company. I think they may still be in the same building. One of the lads I worked with has now decided to switch camp and join the fairer sex. Don't think that was anything to do with the supernatural though; although it was quite inexplicable!
