See for a while now i have gotten these dreams where i am falling and just when i am supposed to hit the ground a wake up quickly with a jolt. I am on the swim team and i imagined i was on the starting block and i slipped and just before i slammed into the water i woke up very quickly. What are these? and what is lucid dreaming, just taking the oppurtunity to ask sorry grin2.gif

I used to have the same types of dreams. I haven't had them in awhile. I never gave them much thought though! Hmmmm.... hmm.gif

Glad to know, me and my mom have them. It is scary because you wake up wet with sweat. You feel everything from the wind on your face to your stomach in your chest from the fast drop like roller coasters (love that feeling just not in my dreams) that is a good example... roller coasters. that is how it feels stomach in your chest fast drop "sensation" wind pushing your cheeks to your ears, just you don't get off the ride safely you "splatter" should i say but i never see my self splatter (thank goodness)

I don't think I've ever met anyone else with this 'problem.' But I suppose I've never really asked.

This must sound crazy, but when you 'wake up' do you actually feel like you're falling into your bed, or wherever it is you're laying? rolleyes.gif

tongue.gif LoL I didn't it like that! I mean like right before you hit the ground/water/etc. and you wake up does it feel like you've hit the bed? Or do I need to go see my therapist again? grin2.gif

I understand what you mean. I haven't had those dreams in years. Back in the day, when I was having those dreams on a regular basis, yes I would feel like I was "falling" back into bed. The best explanation I can give is it's your body waking up with such shock from the jolt your body goes through expecting to hit the ground. I actually had one of those dreams and woke up while falling out of bed lol. I hope I helped.

You two helped greatly, drlngnikki i was joking when i said is that an insult lol

don't take it seriously

People say that if you die in your dream, you die in the "solid" world, so i guess your body is waking you up so you don't see yourself die, or maybe your spirit guide is waking you up so you don't die, hmmmmm

I have died, and have seen myself die in my dreams. Still here, besides there would be no way to tell if you died in reallity from dying in a dream

Same I remember getting stabbed to death in one of my dreams.

And I had one of the falling dreams today, I rode my quad to the edge of a cliff, then for some reason I jumped off it, and woke up just before I hit theground, I think I woke up because I was freaking out from it. I also get dreams after playing sport, like a ball is hit at me and I wake up trying to catch it before it hits me. wacko.gif
angrycrustacean
They're just ordinary dreams (or nightmares). nothing to worry about.

In answer to your other question, lucid dreaming is a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming and can control your actions.
teledude
thanks angrycrustation and josh and durnut for your answers

naw, i die in my dreams all the time, and i dont wake up, i dont think it has ANYTHING to do with your spirit guide, more to do with the fight or flight impulses, your brain wakes up due to the rush and you find yourself safly in bed, falling dreams are completly natural....

i dont really believe this but i have heard some people saying that sometimes you astral project in your sleep and you falling in your dream is really your astral body coming back into your normal body, or something like that. i forgot where i heard that, i think it was on this webite somewhere....
kariudo115
^well, that or your etheric body leaving your body

I've heard people say that the 'jolt' you get when you wake up before hitting the ground in your dream is really your spirit reenterring the fleshy part of you original.gif
