I watch the show cross country . I am wondering how he gets his imformation? Is it for real or is it fake. like he just starts throwing out questions and someone just happens to relate to thier loved ones?

although i do belive that such things are real... john edwards does not do them... if you notice, he points to half the crowd, says a letter, and somebody has a dead family member with that letter... very broad... then, he sais they love them and that they are happy.... um??? der?

Yeah, it would be a bit like me saying:

"Someone reading this has lost a close relative with a name starting with the letter L. They have a message for you."
Someone would almost certainly appear jumping up and down saying "Thats my Auntie Lydia!" Then I could take it from there.

While I agree that most of the time he does seem to be guessing(very broadly at that), everynow and then he is specific and its not something he would be able to guess.

If you've ever heard him talk about his powers, he says that he gets feelings and images and its how he translates it that determines how it comes across. Its not a matter of some spirit talking to him and he relays the message

wow, profound... mediums are real, i just know john edwards isnt one of them.... besides,,, the mediums i know dont make exuses for their vagueness by saying it comes in the forms of immages, my aunt (the one i know) just talks directly to them, like a real human being... (they wake her up at night, well, the depressed ones...)

john edwards.. well i am not going to bash the man regarding whether he is real or not maybe some of the things he says is right on.. however i was wondering can anyone do what john does.. i mean can i sit down and look at a person and say the things he does..its really hard to say he is truly a fake when i have never been in his presence..bren

scardeycat started a thred like this, she does this stuff, shes about as accurate as john is, exept on a 1 to 1 basis, making it a lot more impressive

They've even identified the part of the brain used for all things pyschic, its the piece behind your forehead just above the eyes, co-incidently the same place as your third eye and a major chakra point.

Anyway, all people have all these abilities, the thing is to 1) learn to do it(like walking, hard at first-then completely natural once you can) and 2)Practice it.

For example, I can see auras very easily, I have always been able to manipulate mine and others and I developed the ability to see them easily.
There is even a scientific reason for it. All things have auras, you can even take photos of them, its just a spectrum of light that is slightly above what normal people can see, but you can train your eyes to be able to see that frequency. There are lots of differant exercises you can do to see auras based on improving your perception and range. And once you can do it, it can be turned on and off at will, like squinting.

I imagine what John Edward does (assuming he IS for real) is just telepathy, but he's practiced enough to be able to almost "sort", if you will, through information in his target's mind.

Cold reading and body language is hardly telepathy. They are called social skills. Some people in here are in dire need of those...

they pretty much gather info. by analyzing people, which is what some pppl. do and claim to be psychic

ahh... i was going to say if its only reading people than my friend is the master at it, he had me think of a number between 1 and 1,000,000 and he guessed it right 10 times in a row

Sorry I don't have the time. Just takes a few strokes for you to get an answer. In a nutshell using what people say, their body movements, etc. You can appear to give a psychic reading. It is very effective but not paranormal.
