As many know, Long Island NY has got such a huge history on its back. With that being said you have such famous and historical sites such as...

Amityville Horror House <Amityville NY>
Pilgrim Psychiatric Center <Brentwood NY >
CI State Hospital <Central Islip NY>
Kings Park Psychiatric Center <Kings Park NY>
Satan's Trail ( Cedar Hill Cemetery ) <Mt. Sinai NY>
Mt. Misery & Sweet Hollow Road <Huntington NY>
Fire Island Lighthouse <Fire Island, NY>

Then you have a lot of small town village ghost stories to go along with those.
Country House Restaurant <Stony Brook NY>
Cedar Hill 1789 Congressional Church <Mt. Sinai NY>
The Hanging Tree ( Shore Inn ) <Stony Brook NY>
Hampton Court <Hampton NY>
Townsend Manor Inn <Oyster Bay NY>

So I'd say there's a ton of haunted places on Long Island, and I'm not including the many places such as the Merchant House in New York City. This list can go on forever...

Anyway, I know I will get to my point....lol

My point is, I'm curious if anyone on UM has any unusual tales or ghost stories that have roamed on Long Island that many might not know about. I run a Paranormal Research Group called LIGHT, and we're looking for things that aren't well known that might be conclusive enough to perform a Paranormal Investigation on them. I know some of you are from NY on here and I bet got some stories to tell...

Even if its a residential home, we want to know... Some of those places are strict and hard to get into because of security issues.

If you like to PM me with some stories or tales, please feel free. I will keep you confedential because our group is very discreet.

Thanks

I'd say NY is just plain old Haunted!!!! lol
If you think about it...

heh I live on Long Island but I havent been to any of those places yet but...

Well my house is haunted. Like downstairs is haunted everything scary has to do with my downstairs. Like I see the door to my laundry room shaking when Im down here on the computer late at night sometimes and noises and just weird crap like stuff randomly falling, doors opening and closing without any wind blowing. Oh yeah my bathroom shower walls bleed. Yes you read thar right, but it is not what you are thinking, like blood all over the wall, it is little specks of blood and I understand if you dont believe. I didnt until I saw it with my own eyes. It happens whenever either me or my father re-grout the shower walls. Usually first we find specks of blood on the sponge used to clean everything off. Then we see little specks of blood on the wood. We tried every possible reasonable explanation to no avail. Next time it happens Ill get pics for you guys. But to be honest neither me or my dad were that scared about it, I guess because we always grout the shower during the day and that is just little specks.

I have 3 more incidents of weird crap happening
1)Last year I was like half a sleep in my bed, and I hear this sound. Its like a puking sound. Being half a sleep I think to myself im just imagining it and if im not I dont care, Im going to sleep. Then my mom hears it and pretty much wakes me up. Its the sound of somebody grunting or throwing up, coming from under my bed. My mom and dad came in my room to check it out. My dad didnt hear anything at all but me and my mom did, and then it stopped once they came in. My dad's explanation was there was a guy outside throwing up on the side of our property. That couldnt be it though, my window was closed and the only guy out there was way too far a way, and the sound was coming from under my bed. You know how I said everything freaky that happens is connected to my downstairs? Well that happened when my bed was up against a wall and on the bottom of that wall is a ventilation shaft that connects to my laundry room, where it seems like everything happens. I didnt get much sleep that night.

2)Me and my dad are watching the football game upstairs. My mom was at the store and when she gets home. She comes running in asking if everybody was ok? Me and my dad were like "The Jets blow, but yeah everybody is fine, why?". She heard a moan of a person screaming from help from out house when she pulled in the drive way. From where in the house exactly? You guessed it downstairs/laundry room. That night I did some research and the former owner of this house died young, like either early 50's or before his 50's I forget. This also reminded me of a dream I had once. It was of panic and confusion downstairs in the room. Two guys were on the telephone dialing a number frantically like they needed help. Weird...

3)Now this one scared the crap out of me. A long ass time ago when I was in like middle school me and my mother came home from the library or something. So yeah I go in my room to play videogames or something. All of a sudden she comes in my room and tells me to get out of the house and go in the car. So me and my sister and my dogs all get in the car and we speed the hell out of there. I asked her what was going on. She said that the dog took a dump by the door to get into the downstairs part of the house. She remember leaving the light off and the door open and she thought she heard something downstairs. Well the light was on and the door was closed, and the dog only takes dumps in the house when its scared or really needs to go. Then she said that the light turned off right when she was thinking that. So she thought somebody was in the house. So after we got out of there we went to my grandmothers house and my dad and mom investigated the house and they found nobody there and nothing missing. The light was working fine by the way and the dog was afraid to go downstairs for a while.

Well nothing interested has happened lately and I am sort of thankful for that

i live in CI not far from the mental hospital. my house is haunted, we have about five spirits- i think they're all human, only twice did i encounter something that might not have been human- i was in the basement doing laundry and it suddenly got cold, and a wind blew from the back wall up the stairs, and burst through the door- the door was shattered and my mother, who was in the kitchen (opposite said door) felt a blast of cold air and saw a black cloud rush at her, through her to the outside. needless to say the next day we had a priest come and bless the house- we're somewhat religious- the smart kind.

my uncle started haunting the house two years ago two days after christmas- we received a photo of him from our relatives in greece, and as i was looking at the photo it became clouded and changed from him to my deceased grandmother (it should be mentioned that the woman was not entirely sane and more than dabbled in the occult.)

we also have unexplained orbs and such.. i have to go but there is so much more to tell
EctoPunk
Hey guys...

I have a new s/n... I handled Damien and changed it to Ectopunk. We run a professional paranormal group if you guys need an investigation done but we interview all clients before and prior to one. If you really think you have something and like us to conduct one, PM me with some background.

However, if your under age, you'll need permission from your parents ofcourse. If you live at home and over age, you still need the owners permission to do an investigation.

PM me if you would like a serious investigation done...

In response to your questions about hauntings in New York, I grew up in a house on the other side of the Central Islip mental hospital. There were always stories from my older brother and sisters about the crazy things that would happen as the would sneak around in the abandoned buildings and under ground tunnels in the mid to late 70's. But as young as I was, I'll never forget any of the things that happened to me in that house. (If you contact me by e-mail I can give you the address). I would wake up all the time to see a tall man at the end of my bed. He would just stare at me and I would pretend to be asleep. Eventually I would just wake up in the morning having passed out from fear. When I was about 6 I awoke one night to see my bedroom door opening and closing. I got up and went to the door and attempted to pull it open, expecting to see one of my siblings on the other side. The door pulled shut and as I pulled on it and sat on my older brothers bed to try and get leverage I could see each time that I pulled the door that there was no one on the other side. I attempted to wake my brother who was asleep by screaming his name, but I was so terrified that nothing would come out. The next morning I awoke across my brothers legs in his bed. Finally a few days after that I awoke again to the man at the bottom of my bed. But this time I had convinced myself to act. I charged at his legs thinking that I would knock him over, but I went right through him. As I hit the floor and turned around, He was still standing there but he had turned and was looking at me. My mother had converted the basement to an apartment for her younger brother and wife. One night around (christmas time) when we were all in bed, My uncle came upstairs yelling that he saw us kids running through his apartment and pick up and toss his x-mas tree across the room. When I was 7 my mother remarried (my father had died in a car crash when my mother was pregnant with me). My stepfather moved into the house and witnessed many of the hauntings, but in a short time he had all that he could take when a plate flew across the room, just missing him. He bought us a new home in Bayport, but we kept the home in C.I. as a rental. My parents ended up seling that home at a huge loss and recently told me that it was due to the fact that every tenant would leave the house and break the lease dur to the hauntings. In 1996 I got married and was driving my wife around showing her where I had lived when I was a child (because I had told her the stories). We stopped infront of the house and there were several people in the yard. A lady approached us and she didnt speak english. I had my wife tell her in spanish that I used to live there, and ask if the house was haunted. She told my wife that very evil things have happened in the house and that is was very haunted. I actually have many other stories about this house, almost too many to type here. But if you would like anymore info, including the address and other occurrences you can e-mail me at rhorton31@verizon.net. We can even talk on the phone after I have heard form you. My childhood in that home is what is driving me today to find out all I can about these type of hauntings. I believe that this was and probably still is a very evil haunting.
