There is said to be a creature between the roads of smith and edmonton. Many say that it is called " the weatigu'. It is said to be 6 feet tall and the teeth 3 x the size of a bear!
There have been many spottings in slave lake alberta, the creature hides in the leaves, bushes, trees etc. When you walk near it, the bushes will rattle unbearably, then its said it will jump out and eat ya
Me and one of my girlfriends a LONG time ago were walking in these trails around 9 pm and we seen a dark shadow over this bush.,...the bush shook and shook so we ran as fast as we could.
There are legends in smith that it use to come to the town about once a month to feed. Any thoughts?

Idk, the story sounds pretty fake to me. Or like a rip off of the chubacabra.
And has it actually eaten anyone? Have their been any reports of missing people?

Sounds quite a bit like a variation of the Wendigo legend.
"The Wendigo, correctly spelt weetigo and pronounced wee-ti-go, comes from Native legend telling the tale of a great Native warrior. The warrior, in an attempt to become stronger, ate the hearts of his fallen foes. Over time the warrior began to physically change and crave human flesh"

Could have been someone saw you and decided to play a prank when you were out with your girlfriend that time, lol. Things can look a lot more sinister when it is dark.
I think it sounds made up too.

I agree, sounds a lot like an urban legend. I'd like to see some links to missing people reports in the area, too. I wonder which came first.

Piney, you're back!
Most of the token NdNs left so I have returned to put my "red cents" in.
There are many variations of the Windigo legend. There is even a Midi (medicine society) among the Nishnabs (Objibway,Chippewa) called the Wendigokaan where they dress up as Windigos and perform clownish acts including scaring Yengi (white folks) which might account for some Bigfoot sightings. My own tribe, the Nanticoke-Lenape have dieties called the Misingk and Shingasuk who has similar attributes.
