There are weird cryptids in Brazil, here's a desription:
1-Negro d'água: The translation is water negro, it's 3 feet tall (90 centimeters), has a bulky body, habits some rivers in brazilian swampland, has webbed feet and hands, looks like a black person and sometimes looks like a monkey. Many pople already saw them and has a scaly body.
2-Clawed hominid: A tall clawed man-like animal, is said to be very agressiven habits the northeast region.
3-Quimbungo: This one is from the northeast as well, its descriptions fit closely a BIG FOOT! There's why some people think it's a big foot cousin, sometimes is seen running the northeast semi-desert.
4-Tongue eater: A giant gorilla sighted in the swampland, it has a taste for the tongue of any animal, including humans.
5- Mapinguari: Its description fits giant ground sloths, they're seem in amazonic area, sometimes its said it has gator-like scales, interesting enough, there was a specie of ground sloth that had plates, this may explain why its considered resistent to bullets.
6- Chupa cabra- Yeah, Yeah. It was seen in Brazil as well, through the whole country.
So, what do you think? There are many reliable people who saw number 1, about number 2 it's still seen nowadays, number 3 is still seen now and than and number 4 haven't been seen by maaaany years, maybe it's extinct. Number 5 I believe is real and number 6 is just chupa cabra again.

The site was shut down recently, it was brazilian. I just can't find any pics, but the stories seem real, too bad there's so few info about them.

I found some info:
Negro d'água: The last sighting was in June 16th of this year, when a girl saw a short "scaly monkey" swimming in a river, according to her it had frog-like hands.
Clawed hominid: The most impressive sighting happened in a morning of 1977 when 6 people saw a clawed man trying to climb a tree, when the moster saw the humans it started to run in their direction and attacked a man, the beast fled after slash the man who died few days after for severe wounds, the eyewitness said its skin had the color of a white man, few hair and light blue eyes.
Quimbungo: In 1993 a woman was walking in middle of the semi-desert when she saw by far a black creature walking, the creature stopped, leaving time for her went closer to it, when she got close she realized the animal had shaggy fur and black eyes, the size was about 7 feet tall, the creature didn't see the woman and looked like a large monkey with some human features.
Tongue eater: The last sighting happened in 1937 when an old man almost had a heart attack when he saw a huge monkey torning out the tongue of a bull, according to the man even the bull didn't have enough force to stop the attacker, few months later it was shown pics of many primates to him and he pointed the animal was exactly like a gorilla, but taller.
Mapinguari: A claw mark is a tree was recently found by a man who says he saw a large hairy animal was scratching its claws in the tree, he couldn't recognize the animal.
Chupa cabra: Was seen in my city few hours before a dead horse was found, its blood was drained.

And for the record yes I am quite interested. So you think Mapinguari might be a Megatherium? Could well be, if they survived the last ice age. Quite possible I suppose.

I love these stories. It's so interesting hearing about these different creatures and about how they could ppssibly exist. I just want a good picture or actually body of one of these things found. It's also pretty scary that the one guy got attacked and died supposedly from one of those creatures.

I think it's very interesting. I always enjoy hearing about cryptids that may (or may not!) live in different parts of the world.

I have watched a documentary and read a book on the mapinguari. It was actually given a scientific name by Florentino Ameghino. Its scientific name is Neomylodon listai (Lista's new Mylodon). Just as an extra bonus, Nessie also has a scientific name, Nessiteras rhombopteryx, meaning 'Ness monster with diamond-shaped fin.' This was given by Sir Peter Scott, and accepted widely until some know-it-all smart-ass worked out that it could rearranged into 'Monster hoax by Sir Peter S!'

It was said by Ameghino that the "Mylodon" still exists in the Patagonia, the souther region of my country.

The Mylodon was a really big creature...it would be hard to hide.
