Look. You have to be consistent. You can't claimed to have seen a mermaid and then tell people what they have seen is not real. Come on. hmm.gif

You really ought to make up your mind Frogfish. The person saw a small creature that seemed to have wings and reminded them of a "dragon". You say it must be imaginary and cannot exist yet you posted a photo of a small reptile that looks like a dragon. And guess what? Its scientific name includes the word "draco" (which means dragon in latin).

No one said the little creature breathed fire, collected gold, or demanded virgin sacrifices. There are many real creatures that are properly called "dragons' like the Chinese Water Dragon, Komodo Dragon, and gliding Draco/Dragon lizards exactly like the photo.

And if you are still a Catholic, as you once claimed on this forum, your Bible is filled with the more mythical sort of talking and fire-spewing dragons.

That was because someone asked....

The creature spotted in this thread is an insect...No gliding lizards in British Columbia...
draconic chronicler
The point is first you claim it cannot exist and than then you show a picture of a similar creature that in fact is called a "dragon" in its scientific name.

But they do have "draco" in their names, they are called dragons but not in the classic sense. I once read an arcticle about a group of men who brought a dragon back from the Crusades, it was long and reptilian, they kept it in a mote and fed it live stock. If I recall rightly it lived for a very long time.

This dragon was a nile crocodile. wink2.gif

You can't have a topic with just 50 posts of 'dragons are real' and then 'yes i agree'. There should be debates, links, stories, etc to make it interesting.

Most 'types' of dragon aren't supposed to breathe fire, I don't think any Chinese dragons are meant to at all.
