Anyone know of any progress made on the front of understanding Dolphin language? Sorry to just pose the question, but I couldn't come up with anything linkable.

I have heard about it, but I can not provide details considering I am not 100% sure about it.

Since when is a dolphin a cryptid? I think this belongs here.

Some "alarm calls" and "greeting calls" have been identified, but most of it is totally unknown, and it won't be solved in the near future (even their language possession is debated). The main problem is that there won't be a "Rosetta Stone" and without a reference point to an already know language, all attempts are futile that aim to 'decode' what the dolpins and whales are saying.

Agreed, I usually don't associate UM with the more mundane natural world topics, just figured this would be something that someone here might know about. Any mods that pick up this thread should feel free to move it to the appropriate forum. Sorry bout that
